Kalbs or someone else, I have another quick question. I now have the Stg-44 and have just got through chronoing it, right now it is at around ~430 fps. Way too high for our field. If I get a PDI 150 spring such as the one you recommended www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?products_id=664 is there anything else I need? I realize most of the time people are upgrading to higher springs so they need stronger components. Given that I'm weaking it, I should not need anything except the spring, right?

You shouldn't need anything but the weaker spring. If it holds up to a stronger spring it will easily hold up to a weaker spring.

Just wanted to thank again everyone who helped. I managed the upgrade and the weapon shoots well. The gearbox bit was touch and go, but a tutorial from mechbox.com was pretty much aces. I figured I would post it here for anyone who is in my boat in the future. www.mechbox.com/mechbox/v2-mechbox-spring-upgrade.htmlIt really is a bit of a challenge, and I was fortunate to have a really talented friend helping me. I am pretty confident I could do much more now on the MP44 if I was so inclined. I may write a more idiot proof guide to disassembly if I have time, since I know people who may attempt this themselves.

If you got one of the later AGM MP44's, that came with the plastic MP40 muzzel nut. Here is a place to get a metal one for decent price! auroraind.net/detail.aspx?ID=88 Hi Guys! My wife gave me a STG 44 for Christmas. It's a great gun! My only problem with it is it came with just the plastic orange muzzle nut. I bought a Muzzle nut from Aurora. It looks great but the problem is the muzzle nut has a right hand thread. I figure I'll re-tap it with a 14mm LH thread. Anyone know what size tap that is used on barrel? I've seen 14-1.5 LH taps and 14-1.0 LH taps and I'm not sure which to get. Thanks for any help!

Hey just wondering, I heard that the newer models have a down graded spring ie lower fps in comparison to the originals. Is that true?

Does anyone know the answer to the last two questions asked?

Possible, no idea though since I got an earlier one. You are kind of limited on battery size because of the battery area which is sized for an 8.4 stick battery which is arounf 1100 mAh

The AGM MP44 bazrrel and orange muzzle nut have M14x1.0 Left threads. I'm going to be making steel MP44 muzzle nuts which will replace and screw on the AGM MP44. I'm gathering materials now and will start production in March. As soon as I have some made, I'll post pictures and info on how to order them.

Where do you fit that battery in an AGM MP44? Will it fit in the receiver or did you have to carve out room in the butt-stock?

I used mine for the first time today in an open play game. With no modifications I was really happy with the way it handled. The weight of it is actually a plus to me. Some mid caps would be nice and I definitely want to get a metal flash hider. Does anyone know of anyone making/selling them currently?
