A friend of mine who is interested in joining us had a couple of questions I couldn't completely answer. We were able to find both the KTW springfield and enfield rifles which are quite pricey. He was wondering if anyone made them for less. Also if not he was wondering about whether or not he would be able to mount a scope on a carbine and still be historically correct.

Carbines didnt have scopes, tell your friend he doesnt need to have a scope anyway. shooting through the iron sights is just fine.

No scopes on Carbines or Garands in WWII. Those custom Garands, Springfields, & Enfields are indeed pricey. Marushin's 8mm Garand is probably the cheapest way to go.
Also, the "sniper scope" is a bit of a Hollywood imbellishment. Though scopes were used, a lot of snipers simply used the stock sights on their rifles.

Although in Korea M1 Garands were fitted with scopes as the M1903 was being put out of commission, but the Garand was not used with a scope in WW2 because soldiers needed the quick aiming of iron sights.
