Cybergun is marketing an all metal drum mag for its line of Thompson SMGs. I picked one up for $45 plus shipping at Pyramyd Air. Its a hefty piece and adds considerable weight to the gun. Its finished in flat black, matching most gun finishes. It holds a huge amount of bbs. Its rated capacity is 450. It uses a winding mecanishm like all other high capacity magazines. The large wing on the front of the magazine is the winder. Although Cybergun sells this as an accessory for its M1A1 model gun, I purchased it for use on a M1928 (mosquito molds conversion). It attaches and feeds flawlessly on both guns. However, since the M1928 has a higher cutout in in its receiver, there is a gap above the mag which you can see in the pictures below. I have not opened up the drum mag to see if modifications can be made to reduce this gap and I'm not sure I will as the gap does not detract seriously from the overall look. And I had hoped people would move more toward mid/low capacity magazines in WW2 Airsoft.
I mean, my MG-34 only holds a little over 500 rounds in the assault drum… which is very difficult to re-load in the field. But I guess you guys need some kind of response to the STG-44. HAHA

If we start seeing people with drums on their M1A1's I'm going to cry.

I have had absolutely no problems with the drum magazine. Exactly what do you mean by "clip"?
I've got a brand new one for sale in the classifieds.

detasman you got to be kidding me! you don't know what a clip is. Please stay away! m5a11943, I found Finn's usage of the term "clip" confusing, given its context. Yes, I know that "clip" referrs to a gun's magazine. However, I wasn't sure if perhaps Finn was referring to some particular part of the drum magazine. I have left a more personal message for you on PM.
