I actually have a set of Polish ammo pouches from that War! They were a throw in from a guy I was doing business with buying Polish 1939 gear from. Dated 1920-21.

Are there any books/movies you can recommend on this subject?

In the 17th century the polish were destroying the Russians in a major conflict. Its not in 1919, but its really impressive how far they were able to push! www.youtube.com/watch?v=1VKkc1CVSAcI'm sure they have an english subtitles version. Alsoooo, the last successful cavalry charge was the Italian Savoia Cavalry division in ww2 in Yugoslavia.

I ordered a DVD of it from my local Russian Store. 4 of the actors on 1612 are from 9 ROTA.

I really want to watch that movie. I heard it was very propogandizied though as it was made by the Russians.
Still want to watch it though. That period has always interested me.

I should have it by next week, will let you know how good it is.
But by the trailers i have seen the Flying Hussars are being made to look like murderous blood thirsty bastards.

I ordered a DVD of it from my local Russian Store. 4 of the actors on 1612 are from 9 ROTA. I also got one called "Birthday". Centers around one guys Birthday 3 different times from pre War,1939, and 1944. I got it thinking I'd see some good 1939 action, but was a bit disappointed as it just showed him and his unit getting shelled,or sniped at and stringing wire or whatnot. Also shows him fighting in Warsaw in 44,but really nothing substantial there either.
