This is for 29ththerealpimps who must have just made an honest mistake about what types of images go where......... Looks very good troop- please re-read the rules and examples especially in the 'Stitch Knot-See' section, one of the admins spent a lot[/b] of time on those. That is all- This is my 506th Easy Company Impression. The m43 uniform is Babe Heffrons from band of brothers. I bought it from Grigsby Militaria. The double buckles are from atthefront. Enjoy! 1 M43 field jacket 1 pair of m43 para pants 1 m1937 wool shirt 1 pair of double buckle boots m1 helmet Original Pistol Belt Original m1945 suspenders M1910 shovel w/ cover m1919 canteen w/ cover original f/a pouch with carlsile Spitfire 740's response:Holy crap! Excellent impression! I really like that color, it just seems better than most other uniforms. Not to get on another discussion about the dye on uniforms, I just like that color . You just need to fill your pockets with somthing to make them look packed. Great work! 29ththerealpimp's reply:Thanks thats another reason I like it is because the color. I got 2 sets of k-rations breakfast, lunch, supper And i filled my pockets with them and grenades and a zippo and fake ciggarettes

The color seems very brown to me. Get some M36 suspenders and thompson 5-cell and you'll be good to go.

I think ya look great troop!
(I do agree with Nimlas on the small details as well though)
The only thing advice I would have for these would be:
-Outdoors locations are great, but you could just move up against the house to avoid modern distractions like roof ventillation pipes and ornamental sculptured bushes.
-Keep the 'bigger picture' in mind, think of all the vintage photo's you have seen and try to recreate those. If your friends or parents are taking the picture, tell them what effect you are trying to acheive.
-Use Irfanview or other graphics software to alter or enhance the photos for that WWII visual effect.

I really like that shade of the uniform. You might want to tuck your boot laces under the upper part of the boots. Also you'll need to get an M2 or M1C helmet. Unless you're smart like me and decide to do a glider impression! wink wink*

Part of the reason the pants are so dark is there is burn marks oil stains and everything. But I like the color. I have found the perfect place to take my photos so I can post them in the stitch not see thread. I am getting a five cell in the mail. It didn't come intime for christmas though.

Holly crap those combat boots look fresh from the QM depot!!! Like Mauser said shoe dubbin and quick! Good ones are Sno Seal, and Hubbard's Shoe Grease. I think Sno Seal's pretty easy to find, Hubbards you might have to go to a shoe store for. I've noticed that they don't get my boots quite dark enough though, so after I'm done putting the dubbing on and letit dry, I put brown Kiwi shoe polish over it and it turn the boots that DARK DARK brown color (almost black) and covers up the fuzz on the roughouts, and makes em look almost original! Other than that very nice job!

Here's the deal that I really hate. You see, during the war all uniforms and parts of gear were produced in varying facilities, producing different shades and color variations in a soldier's outfit. No two men mirrored each other, in other words. But the FARBs and whining turds of reenacting have screamed at me several times for have gear that does not match, which means they thought all those with boots on the ground in the ETO all looked the same, and that it isn't "khaki." The last part was right, but I really hate these folks.
I love ATF.

Nobody is whining, and nobody is saying bad remarks because his boots don't match his uniform. Here's the thing, DB's and roughouts don't look the same after months of fighting, his uniform looks of that, so why not his boots? It's a simple suggestion that just makes his impression all the better.

I am not one who cares about whether gear matches. I hate seeing matching khaki shades. I can't stand that. But I feel that if your uniform is faded and has that "been there" look I think that the boots should at least match it. But its all my opinion. Show me 20 guys with M42s that dont match and that would make my day!

No, not you guys. Like...others. And just look at pictures. The deal is, I am a very simple person, who gets pissed at anyone for any reason, for very miniscule reasons. It's a huge fault of mine.
Anywho, yeah. Just take a hike every weekend and get dirty.

I know how that is! Do as Polak said and go take a hike! >_^ it is a very good way to get your boots broken in. I need to do that with my jump boots as well.

haha, ya i dont have a gun as of yet.... and im ordering rigger pouches. I'm saving up for probably some thopmson cell or rigger pouch and a TM thompson, because i dont have the money for the garand, and i think why spend 500 on an airsoft garand when i could buy a real one for that cost... so ya. -Cary
