Well its not going to be cheap, check out ebay first for cheap things, i noticed sportsman's guide has some cheap US repros. The best in my opinion is At the Front, they generally make excellent repros and i'm never dissapointed with the product. Also What Price Glory is another good option for US gear.

and if your going infantry try the HBT's they cost around 100 with pants and shirt. you can get a M1 Economy helmet for 75 and after that all you need REALLY (others will say more but just basicly for airsoft) Pistol belt, either Thompson bag, SMG Rigger pouch, or 5 cell pouch www.ima-usa.com/product_info.php/products_id/1313 and m1936 suspendors or Haversack. BTW all of this is from atthefront.com

but this all depends on what type of solder you want to be (infantry,airborne,etc...) . do what ever youd like. Im not saying you have to be an american soldier. You can be british Canadian, Scottish, maybe PTO like australian aussie or possibly Northern african soldier

Go for What Price Glory and At the Front. Sportsmans Guide is junk for the most part. Research up on what you need then watch ebay and you'll find good deals. Infantry wore wools more then HBT's. Definately if your going infantry get a set of 1938 wool pants and shirt. As for the helmet I'd get an original WWII one from eBay.

Just a word of warning about eBay. Be careful, especially with original stuff. Sometimes what you get is in much worse condition than they said it was. Also, check out the shipping costs. I've been burned a couple time swith totally outrageous shipping charges.

I have had fairly good luck with it. Make sure to ask questions on shipping and to keep your bids low.

If you are doing infantry, don't get the rigger pouches for the thompson.

Recognize that prices for items and uniform run all over the map but that you typically get what you pay for. Buying complete set ups from folks leaving the hobby or who discover they have more than they need are generally your cheapest options. Gun shows used to be a great option but it seems more and more those folks seem to know what they have.

Many things at gunshows, well at least around here can be a bit overpriced, but you can usually find some good deals by trolling you local surplus stores.

I strongly disagree, I went to a gun show and for 5 dollars a Marine in Nam gave me an entire load out including Jacket, Pants, Service Shirt, a few tac. pouches, combat light, and belt. All high quality and actually were issued and saw service. Of course this was probably an exception it still made my nam impression and left a good taste in my mouth from the Norfolk Scope sponsored gun shows. Now, if you want truly good advise you should go to your local surplus store and grab some OD service HBTs always a cheap and good start for an American impression. While your there try and grab an M1 helmet and service belt. After that, begin working on your web gear which would entail a few mag pouches, canteen, bayonet sheath, medical pouch, and multi-purpose rucksack. Than, get your service shoes and DISMOUNTED LEGGINGS(very important as it can be the focal point for an American INFANTRY impression). Last but not least, get your hands on a unit patch and a company calling card, you know like the staple of your unit. Such as many who do U.S infantry or Ranger like to get the trademark Jacket that you see all of the rangers wearin in spr(saving private Ryan) or some who do the Airborne impressions always wear D-day jump paint because it seems now-a-days everyone wants to be 101st, 506th, E-company...I wonder why. Please, Do us all a favor and join the ivy(4th infantry) or Red Devils(5th infantry) and not the overrated airborne unless you've got the rocks to join the 11th or 82nd, and even than we would really appreciate more infantry.

My Uncle was in the Red Devils, captured at Metz. Great unit! I plan on doing them myself.

If you strongly disagree with my post please remember that I posted, "At leat AROUND HERE," I not quite sure what price lines are over at your gun show, but at mine they are apparently different. Please get your facts straight before you post, it can really get annoying for some people and they can also some times get offensive, just trying to help you out of future flame wars.
