veeeeeery slowly. what you have quoted is in the wrong context. i said in VA. ww1 airsoft hasent been catching on too well. i still would be stoked to do a late war german impression. >> WW1 AS isn't catching on anywhere from what I can tell. Where are the weapons?? The ONLY way WW1 weapons will be made,is if the players make them. The fact is, WW1 is NOT that popular, especially with younger people. MOST of the guys I do WW1 with are pretty much all over 30, and a lot have been in the hobby for a LONG time, and have the disposable income it takes to do WW1. It's much more expensive than doing WW2 by a LONG shot! And NO, using WW2 stuff and pretending its WW1 won't really work. And for you guys who wanna do WW1 German, prepare to drop well over $1,000 on just your uniform, helmet and basic gear. I'm not trying to scare anyone away, I;m just stating facts. I LOVE doing WW1,I wish I had more time to do it, so don't think i'm a hater of all things WW1, because I'm not. My gut feeling is this will never take off. WW2 was different, its a MUCH, MUCH more popular era and the resources and AS weapons are out there. The resources for WW1 are too,but only a fraction of what is available for WW2 .

Not to mention the fact that if ww1 airsoft did catch on (which I don't think it will) there would be a ton of people wanting to do US impressions which would limit scenarios to the last year of the conflict. Doing 1915-1917 would be far more interesting IMHO.

yea i dont think many kids would be like oh oh I want to be french!!!!! >> Also, the French impression is one of the more expensive to do. I do French WW2 blank fire BTW. Hey, its a neat impression. Theres a big push towards early war scenarios instead of the ubiquitous "1944/45" scenarios. They are VERY strict as to what uniforms and weapons you can use, especially for the Germans.

Almost all the members of the WWIAA are young and they are very interested. WWII didn't start out really big either, it took time. So you just watch and see. In the mean time just stay up there in NY

I am NOT against what you are doing, just offering advice and my opinion,if you don't want it fine, but maybe others do. And no slick, I won't stay up here in NY. Have a nice day!

Lol be nice folks, my personal opinion,
ww1 airsoft is friggin hopless
took 10 Years for ww2 airsoft to get this far, and when we started we already had asahi mp40s and jac thompsons (ok the thompsons were really expensive)
and I bought the tanaka trench gun, its not a skirmish gun.
So no guns, and very sporadic interest. I personally choose not to dedicate time and money to ww1.
I suggest folks try vietnam airsoft, Its a BLAST! -Gordak

You wanna do it half ass, knock yourselves out. Bottom line,as Gordak says, its a dead end.

Everything has a humble beginning, just realize your talkin something like 7 to 8 years of pain and sacrifice, to get it up to an enjoyable level.

Remember as the gear gets older the more expensive it gets, so ww1 very expensive - iraq very cheap.

Harry Patch was the last British veteran and he passed away in July of '09.
I believe that leaves Claude Choules who was born in England and now lives in Australia , as the only surviving Commonwealth veteran.
Frank Woodruff Buckles is the las American WWI surviving vet.

Think about this , at the end of WWI there where around 65,000,000 "Veterans" from all nations , now 91 years later there are only 2 Veterans left.

But when we don their uniforms, carry their weaponry, and employ their tactics, I like to believe that in some small way, they live again.
It's one of the reasons I do this.
