Same here. always remember the sacrifices they made and the ones that gave their lives so that we can be free.

I had inherited a number of grizzled old salespeople when I took over an organization in 1986 or so. There wqas a horrible looking old man nemed Tot Allen who worked a few days a week and everyone held in high regard. He looked like skeletar, was tall and very thin and had horrible burn scars on his head and had no ear on his right side. I asked someone what had happened to him and they explained tat he was mustard gassed in the war. I replied that they didn't use mustard gas in WW2 and they quickly replied oh no it happened in WW1. I found that incredible as that would have made him 90 years old or there abouts. He was incredibly sharp and agile and it was amazing to watch him run across Rooselvelt way to avoid traffic. He was an avid golfer and a real character. He retired at 93 years old and passed away at 97 years old. During WW2 he was a sales manager for the organization and had been with them for 60 years when he retired. He hated me as I was his boss and from his perspective a real polyanna, bubble head. He called me "College boy" and I wrote down a list of his "Tot Allinisms" as he got away with saying the most amazing things to customers and got away with them. Though he never talked about the war when he found out I was an Infantryman and medically retied from the Army he actually started being pretty nice to me. In spite of his age he was always a very impressive sales person and I leaned alot from him. In spite of his harrasable nature his customers loved him and at his funeral there wasn't a dr eye in the place.

I have a story too about a WWI soldier. My great grandfather was in WWI, my grandfather told me his stories since he is dead. He was in the trenches with an infantry unit , most men were from Mississippi, he would carry a general purpose battery on his back that weighed fifty pounds and never shot a german soldier, he later became a Methodist Minister, but he was caught in most of the fighting. He would usually be under ground or in a trench. My grandfather told me that to him the end of the war was just disquisting. He would have to help carry in the dead, and when the battle hardens veterans came back to the trenches he would work with some field doctors. So they asked them to take off their wool putties or leggings wrapped around their legs, but they didn't come off they crumbled off. And my grandfather said that when they took their boots off it was so nasty, peoples feet were rotting off their legs , that is why it is called "trench foot" and that's all I really remember of the story.

Great stories!!! But how do they relate to this thread? The only problem with WWI in airsoft is finding the right terrain. Many of the guys I have talked to don't have a problem with doing the impression or participating in the field. Additional guns, uniforms and gear is all that is needed, is that a problem? We all started out the same way with WWII. Cost is another problem, but we do have plenty of time as no events are fore coming. Have faith future trench chums!!!

Since tommy gunner has gotten himself into trouble we need another person to make 03 springfields, mk 1 enfields, (i dont know about kar98ks, i think right now the current model will work until we have a new custom maker).

M1917 Enfields were more prevalent, and popular than the '03 Springfield. The unit I was in was issued BRITISH Enfields,as were any American unit under British command. It made ammo supply easier.

Lol Its hard because I started making Kar98s and then I am too busy with them to start anything else. I'll try hard to start the 1903's at least though.

Go to Numerich they have bolt assemblies that look alot more realistic than Jeremiahs. It's a shame that he is getting in so much trouble, he was actually starting to make better rifles

In the new year I`m planning on developing some wooden front ends for the VSR type bolt action rifles. They`ll consist of a top and bottom handguard and a barrel extension /fake magazine. Fitting will consist of simply sliding the assembly over the original outer barrel and securing with a screw. They won`t be super accurate in detail, but will turn a modern looking bolt action into something which will pass for a WW1/WW2 rifle. First one will be the SMLE then probably a GEW98, I``ll probably put them out at around $45-50 plus postage from the UK. I did a similar exercise a while ago turning an MP001 into a No.4, although this time I`ll be using a router so the lines will be nicer.

Mine won`t be out for a while buddy. I only picked the G98 as the handguards will have to go up to the very end of the outer barrel, making it quite a long gun. K98 is considerably shorter and without modding the outer barrel, would be a challenge.

Hey if they made a quality Mosin on the market their would be a bigger basis Yea I know I can sell them, I just need time. School kills that Slick63, nice Enfield. With some work on the stock it would look fantastic. Definitely would be nice if you could sell some customs. The more the merrier!

TG does not sell rifles on here nor do we suggest anyone contract with him to buy one. Please refrain from peddling for him spitfire.

He was given more than a fair chance to take care of his business. I am very understanding of real world issues that may arise and the challenges involved in running a small niche business out of a garage. He dug himself a hole and then did nothing on here to redeem himself.

I'm doing my job on here the best I see fit. TG is barred from selling anything on here for now that is the sum total of my interest in the conversation. Yelling at a mod to BACKOFF is probably not an effective way to get what you want. PM inbound TooTall
