Both my Austro-Hungarian Storm Trooper and my S/W Storm Trooper where frackin expensive to put together. >> I used to do 5th Sturm Pioniere years ago. All I have left is the camo painted M17 stahlhelm. I couldn't part with that! I agree Always reminded me of the tank patterns used on the Renalut tank( ok I have no clue how you spell it so lets just go with FT-17) Haha there's an idea...World War 1 tanker impression. Yeah, Yeah don't forget the black lungs and the two day experasion date or I could always go french with my chuchat gun ahaha battle scene... TAT, TAT, TAT click click, "Confiture Confiture!" ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

My helmet doesn't have camo , but it does have the add-on armor plate on the front , i also have the Body Armor , it's heavy but when you train to run with it it's no big deal, also have the grenade bags and the Trench Pick .

But it may take longer than you expect. Yes it can grow a following, even if not in large numbers. I've been lurking in the weeds seeing what the airsoft community has to offer (and if it can create a market for things like safe, reasonably authentic non-gunpowder grenade sims). I know a growing number of GW reenactors dabbling in airsoft (mostly VN era), who would easily do GW events if the authenticity aspects would not be compromised. If the only trade off were weapons reports for the ability to make folks respect "live" fire, you'd have some interested folks pretty quick, with more on the way. The drawbacks I see now are lack of authentic GW weapons (which can be solved if the market is there) and how to integrate eye protection into the impressions (that may be the hardest part!). But as airsoft grows toward the living history community (like you Second War guys are doing) and can show reenactors AS is not just about kids having way cool firefights with lime green pellets, I think you'll gain a solid foothold with quality minded reenactors (who have long since gotten over the need to be in front of the public). Lots of misperceptions in existence at the moment. You may just find GW guys arleady in your WWII groups, most of us are multi-era types already. The sell won't be hard, if the goods are available. Good Luck! Jim Kidd PS a couple more eye candy links: www.weekendwarbirds.com/gwaa/www.youtube.com/watch?v=zhYMvMGza5cwww.youtube.com/watch?v=ytIb-UGPWNE

Hey Jim, You do Doughboy correct? I believe I fell out with you once or twice a few years back. Yeah, 109th Infantry 28th Div, AEF. I saw your posted photo in front of the Bunghole Inn, so you must have been with us. That's going back a good ways; the site is much more developed since you were there last! Jim

Jim Speedy is still with us; he actually does the ground charge work for the GWA, since he does SFX for films for his day job...Don has talked about coming back out, but we've only seen him for a WWII event we did there. You wouldn't recognize the place, it has had a lot more battlefield enhancements, underground bunkers, etc since you were there last. Jim

If an event was held, I would attend it. Maybe for the first couple of events, "stand in" weapons could be used; ex: a kar 98k for the g98, or certain predetermined AEG's as MGs. All other weapons would be bolt action or semi auto until WW1 correct weapons could be acquired.

You need to read your PM's, if you had and followed the suggestion you would know this has been covered.

Its not really trencyhes, but at a military base were I play they take old ammunition crates and stack them and make two opposing walls. You put some cover in the middle and it gives the feeling of WWI battling.
