Now that I have pictorial evidence to back me up I am going to use that for my post Normandy 82nd impression. Obviously it would be a battlefield souvenier I picked up off a dead Kraut.....

How about having the ultimate under-represented impression event by having the Japanese square off against the Russians in a 1945 Manchurian Invasion event.

quality over quantity for sure but "quantity has a quality all it's own" That only worked for the Russians. I'll take 20 good impressions over 100 bad impressions ANY day.

Yeah, the Russians could charge the Japanese shouting "Uh-rah" while at the same time the Japanese could charge the Russians yelling "Banzai!" Seriously, though, that would be an very interesting, and as yet (as far as I know) an un-done event in either blank fire or airsoft.

Hell, due to the lack of Soviets as well!

i'm finding that the key statement was about how much fun everyone had....that's become the abiding issue for me...after near ten years of this...i'm finding that having good times with good people is way more important than if the guy next to me has a khaki or OD web belt on...

More PTO!! For sure!! I have a USMC load out and would totally do an inexpensive Japanese one. If PTO guys did that, we could switch back and forth. And while the European theatre has a lot of attention now, people forget that in the early 40's, we where really fighting the Japanese! That was the publics attention. The Japanese bombed Pearl, not Hitler. And we fought them from '42 through and past VE-day. We we're in Europe, what, less than a year? Africa and Italy a little more? Also, name battles (and I'm sure some will), other than Omaha, that were as horrifically nuts as Pelelieu, Tarawa, Iwo or Okinawa. If you're going to "reinact" some WWII, and by that I mean shoot BB's at your buddies, it doesn't get more "hard core" than PTO. I can't help but chime in on the stitch nazi stuff while I'm here. It is all about the fun. Come one come all with impressions good and bad and let's fling the BB's. My USMC "impression" started out really bad. Guess what, played anyway. Played with guys in modern gear. Guess why. ...enjoyed it. Doing it again this weekend. My USMC load out is way cooler now. Guess why. ...enjoyed putting it together. Airsoft is not a "Living History" event. We aren't in a parade or an air show today. If you're really into it in that side of it, I respect the personal enjoyment of what you're into doing, but, there is a better time and place for it. Less Stitches, more BB's. And to you guys who did manage to get a PTO game together, total massive kudos. I'm completely jealous to have been on either side. Excellent, excellent job. F it, you guys look great!! Hairy apple, I'm so sad grass valley is so far north of me. You guys look great and I hope you're playing with anyone of any load out with that team. Just call all of your adversaries "Japs" and have a great time looking that F'ing cool!

Thanks! We have fun doing it. Although the USMC is our secondary impression, I'm going to be working a lot more on my USMC stuff soon... it's getting warm soon. If you are ever in the Sacramento area shoot me a PM and we'll have to get you out to a game!

Also, name battles (and I'm sure some will), other than Omaha, that were as horrifically nuts as Pelelieu, Tarawa, Iwo or Okinawa. OK i will. Hurtgen Forest from November of '44 to February of '45 was probably THE worst battle fought by American troops anywhere during WWII on either front , PTO , MTO, ETO. The Hurtgen Forest cost the American Forces close to 24,000 dead and 9,000 other casualties. A veteran of the Hurtgen once told me it was the worst most hellish fighting he had ever seen. Anzio was also hell on Earth , it was also the only battle where American Forces where victims of a Gas Attack .

Thanks Adler. Although it was sort of a rhetorical. And yeah, Hurtgen was a baaaad one. However, I've read 24,000 battle casualties and 9,000 "trench" or other casualties. Iwo had 26,000 battle casualties. But, we digress as there's probably another thread for all that.
I'm just saying more PTO!! Even if we all wear tan bdu's, buy the flappy hats and take turns being Imperials! More PTO!
And, since most scenarios could have the USMC outnumber the dug in Japanese, we could start pulling more of this off!!! Come on WWII airsoft community!!

^^^^ LOL!!!! Well wow, this sure did turn into a mess!!! I can't wait to get out there with hairy_apple and the rest this summer!!! Almost have two full Raider impressions done!! I'd definately like to see some Japanese, anywhere!!! More so here in Peoples Republik of Kalifornya, 'specailly here in the north!! I think maybe, if you guys can get the ball rolling on the east coast, the PTO thing may take more interest. Seems to be more interest in all sorts of airsoft impressions on the East than out here. As far as the 20 not so impessionalbe impressions posted above, well, heck, ya gotta go with what ya got..........i guess. LOL
