The M1 link is an incredible find... I have only see 2 other mega modded gearboxes in which gear alignment was played with.
Photo #6. I wonder if a Thompson Spur gear (smaller diameter v6) was used in the gearset?
When you lineup a standard gearset in a inline configuration. The pistons teeth will rake across the spur gear. Offsetting the spur gear hole below the sector gear hole 3mm+ is essential.

Having held a real-Steal (authentic with german inspection symbols, WW2 Scope, and papers) I have to say that looks amazing.

ok Gentlemen, let's not stray too far off the topic of his G43 please?
If someone wanted to make a new thread with that off topic link in it that would be fine, but the reason this is stickied is so we will eventually have something of a G43 'how-to' hopefully.
Thanks!

HI jay! Wonderful job! I had plans to build a G43 since the first M14 was out on the market... but I was 18 and a little student with a smaller wallet!
Now I'm doing some 3d models, If you want them I can send them, there are front sight, rear sight, bolt carrier support. There are not very detailed but they can be useful.
I'm going to buy a CYMA m14 and to try build all by myself, I don't want to risk about gun's laws here in italy... But maybe I can buy some little stuff like magazine catch and front band. Where did you buy them? Thankyou in advance!!! Bye bye! Marco

Some rendered images: the details are really basic but it is a good base to understand how to put the mech inside before put the hands on the real replica. Bye!

and the stock is not finished, only extruded. I think I will not detail further the stock. It is faster to sand down the real wooden stock than the 3D one

I have just in this moment measured a G3 mag, it will work quite well after a few mod. 2cm wider, and shorter. Maybe something like a low cap is good to adapt. _______ | ! | | ! | | ! | | ! | <--------> width
It also has the "bent lines" on the flank...

I'll ask the moderators to move this reply if it ruffles feathers but I figured it was in the same topic so I wanted to show off Gryphon's latest handiwork. ------NO G-43 WW2 parts were harmed in the making of this rifle.----- Only reproduction parts used were the buttplate, magazines and barrel band on the front. Everything else is completely fabricated in Gryphon's elf factory. Okay, I picked up the G43 from Gryphon today. It is finished although we are still both unhappy with the magazine feed and will find a solution. Gryphon is working on the extra magazine in days to come and I might just experiment with my own fix. But as is it still holds 20 rounds and feeds about 10 of them. The problem is in cutting the spring. That happens with any magazine conversion BTW. They are very finicky and if at all possible stock mags are always a better option. The rifle is an upgraded AGM M-14 underneath the beautiful Oak stock and metalglass fabrications that Gryphon designed and crafted. If you look carefully you can see an armorer's quality patch to the rear stock by the butt plate and other than that the stock fits pretty seamlessly with the rest of the gun parts. Jason, the owner of Airsoft Battlezone did the mechbox upgrade and it shoots a little over 400FPS is my best guess using my coke can chrono but I will test it better with an electric chrono later this week. It uses a big battery. It will be a neat little threat once a fully reliable magazine is worked out. That I am sure will be very shortly. There was some fancy work on the gearbox to get dependable semi-functioning to work. It is semi-only. It is lighter than the real thing but not so light that it doesn't feel right. Seems pretty accurate too but I haven't shot it long ranges yet. Gryphon said it was right on. Needless to say, I am tickled pink. Now I have a rifle to use with my G43 pouches. I don't think however that Gryphon plans to mass produce these (good for me and bad for others) as he mentioned something about tremendous amount of work. This is one project finished for our Autumn Advance deadline and I'll report on the other project that we are working on (Gryphon's part is complete) when I finish it just in time for the event. That should be a couple of days. Stay tuned. Pics - Questions need to be answered by Gryphon unless they are easy ones.

Great job! looks really really good. I can imagine it was a LOT of work but an excellent outcome! I'd like to see this have it's own sticky if Gryphon has time to add details to the info or what have you. It deserves it's own thread I think.

CN, give me a week or two and I'll try to post a "Gryphon's G43 Build" thread (I'm kinda snowed under in the shop at the moment.) The stock was done in halves out of black walnut with the version 7 gearbox motor in the hollow pistol grip like the AGM M14 and my PPSh41s. The full-sized battery is housed in the stock behind the sling slot. I made a pattern for the dummy receiver and pulled a silicone mold so I could make a one-piece aluminized fiberglass part - it attaches over the mechbox with a single large screw hidden under the rear sight. This screw threads into the top of an inverted U-shaped aluminum collar; the collar loops over a tang carved into the back of the handguard and extends down into two slots cut into the stock where it is pinned to the stock.
I think that this little collar is the most clever thing in this build - it solved a number of problems in one swoop. As 'Jack says, the worst thing on the build is the homemade mid-cap mag - the basic concept is good, but I have to re-engineer the guide slot to allow for a stronger spring. When it feeds right, the thing is a dream to shoot....

The messiah has arrived! lol, Very Very good build Gryphon! Franz Ersatzjack made that No - I only acquired some parts for it and supplied the real steel prototype for Gryphon. He did all the brainy work. But I get to use it. That's a tough one... get to use it or get credit for building it. I choose the former.

Absolutely gorgeous. Such an obvious project from the persepctive that there surely will be high demand. Depending on pricing I think you'll sell lots and lots of them so soildifying and finalizing bits like the mags for volume production seems well worthwhile.
Great job. A long over due addition to the AEG WW2 armories.
