Thanks, bro. I didn't mean to sound flippant--keep it just for chasing raccoons--but I REALLY liked the pippa-shaw. I'd missed out on getting one of the .22LR sorta-copies they sold in the 1980s, but found a good secondhand "carbine" pippa-shaw (semiauto only, 16" bbl.) at a Kentucky gunshow--with mags!--and got a tin of "7.62 Tokarev" to feed it. THAT is how much I like the durn thing!
The semiauto is a pretty good plinker and could even be "construed" to be a small-game rifle. Like the Broomhandle, it could be called an "economical weapon:" shoot thrugh three or four foes in a row . . . penetration and range is greater than 9mm Para. Still, that's something I can only shoot in a safe environment--because of the greater range and penetration!
The Airsoft version is the way to go; "kinda like" the real thing in rate of fire; "exactly like" it in looks and handling--and quiet enough and restricted enough in range to let me use it pretty much as I please. AND reasonably "nonlethal!" (If the "biodegradable" airsoft B-Bs K-Mart has really do disintegrate, I could hose down the yard with impugnity!")
I've always been a "marksman." Long range, "Service Match," combat pistol, target pistol. I've been keen on getting something with which I could do autoweapon shooting without the "umbilical" of an air hose, like an old gallery tommygun. I used to clean up at carnivals where they had those! ("Shoot out the star" contests--you know!) I still like to keep my hand in . . . .

Jacksavage, I could probably kick out a PPSh-41 AEG for you sometime in September or October - if that works for you. PM me if you're interested.

Gryphon, do you think it would be possible to do this conversion using a real parts kit?

Schmitty once made a beautiful PPSh-41 AEG using a real steel kit and a heavily modified gearbox - I could be wrong, but I think there are pics of his build somewhere in this section. The conversion looks like a fair amount of work, which is why mine are scratchbuilds. If you want to do a conversion PPSh-41, Go For It and post pics!

I own one of Todd's subs. It's a great little gun and I use it for German and Russian. Highly recommended.
I recommend calling Todd. He's very busy and doesn't always respond to email/PM that quickly.

where did you get the gearbox and internals to put inside, and how many fps do you expect it to have?

mikemike, I use the AGM version 7 gearbox and brass barrel assembly from their M14; they all seem to shoot in the low 320-350 fps range.
