I was wondering if anyone on the forum has come across MAT 49 parts within the airsoft community, specifically bits and peices of parts, or even non-gun MAT49 weapons.
Merci.
Majorum.

I wouldn`t mind building one to go with my lizards. I did a full scale print out of one to get measurements etc., and had the sheet steel and AK gearbox ready to start. Then the damned VCR bill came into force in the UK making it illegal to build an airsoft gun unless you are an active skirmisher. Unfortunately at the time I was working weekends so didn`t skirmish for over a year. There was one built over in Japan (see pic) but I haven`t seen anymore around. Its the one gun I`d like to see China build as its so compact but I can`t see it happening unfortunately.

It would certainly be nice for an early early War Viet Mihn vs French impression or a VC impression throughout the war.

I know that this is a dated post but I figure I should at least try.
I am actually looking into building an airsoft MAT-49 myself to go with my French Indochina impression. I've got a buddy with a machine shop that I plan on using. Slick63 if you, or anyone else on this post has a schematic or dimensions and measurements that they would kindly pass my way it would be a huge help. Thanks!

That actually looks like a doable replica. No major, glaring challenges that I can see? Any of a number of gear boxes look like they could be used and the shape character is pretty straight forward. The MAT was captured in arge numbers by the Viet Mihn in SE Asia and though not common were occassionally found in VC caches. It was a small but wicked looking little gun.
These projects however are always way way harder than we think they will be. If possible find something where your mag feed system can remain unalterred and keep us posted on your progress.

Brilliant! China are you watching? If so, take note! This a Swedish K would fill two Namsofting holes quite nicely.

That is very cool. Thanks for the post. A MAT is not on my list of needs but if it were...Yours would be a huge boost. In vietnam we saw them occassionally in the hands of the VC. The V.C were frankly aremed with anything in existance.
