OK, so I had this broken Cyma Thompson and I wanted to see what I could make out of it. I call it a Mini Tac. I've seen a few other similar mods which inspired me. I removed about 3" from the front of the barrel and super glued/JB welded the front site back on. Its surprisingly solid. I cut about an inch and a half off the back of the front grip and repositioned it about an inch further back on the gun. You can see how it partially covers the front of the receiver. The mag is a short winder. As you can see, I have removed the rear stock. I have a used Laylax battery sling (black of course) coming in the mail in the next day or so. The whole gun is painted in flat black. Its definitely not WW2 but I like it. Heck, I might even throw on an RIS rail or two. The gun feels a bit heavy for one-handed use but is fairly well balanced. Incidentally, shortening the barrel has made the gun slightly (read greatly) inaccurate. Shooting at full hop-up seems to improve things somewhat. I think I may need to do a better job of recrowning the barrel. Regardless, I don't hold much hope of significantly improving accuracy. Check it out and let me know what you think.

I know this is WW 2 Airsoft, not WW 2.5 or 3, but this...
THIS
is lollipops
Something like a Modernized Tommy gone CQB. Darn you military for retiring the Thomson! You could have had THIS!
But seriously RIS, a holosight, an m203, and a PEQ2 box. lollipops

Adler- what is differant about an mp40K vs a normal mp40? Last time you said something about that I looked it up and couldn't find anything about it.
I'm down with the black. It looks cool. I just don't know how I feel about the shortening. Although we used a truck for a game a few weeks ago and it was hard as hell to shoot out the window with a full sized thompson.

Based on the overwhelmingly positive feedback I've received on the Thompson Mini Tac, I've decided to put this gun into full production. I will be producing 500 units monthly in order to keep up with what I'm sure will be high demand. I will be offering the gun with a variety of options such as optics, lasers, grenade launchers, and even a bipod so that the gun can be used as a long-range sniper weapon. The gun will also be available in a range of fashion colors. Tell me Charlie, how many can I put you down for?

I'll take a bakers dozen in matching ACU camo paint if you can swing it. I'd like the can opener option as well as the martini shaker. Always good to see new custom order shops ....Sorry like I said you asked what we thought I was being honest.

Charlie, No offense taken, and none intended. We're both old enough to have developed a skin thick enough to take some honest criticism or good natured ribbing.
I still plan to enthusiastically pursue this custom project to its conclusion. No, I don't intend to add any doo dads. It's just an exercise in artistic expression and fullfils my desire to create the unique and unusual. The end result will surely be pleasing to me.

Here is the finished gun. I have added a Laylax battery sling. The gun hangs on me at just the right height to be very handy. The 3-point sling holds the gun securely. I ended up using velcro strapping and split key rings as sling mounts. I was toying with the idea of routing the wiring through the top of the receiver but eventually decided to just leave it at the stock location. I plan to replace those split rings with something like a D-ring once I can source them.

It would look better going with a single point sling off the back.

Eh, never mind, I think I'm a couple days late on this one... please though, no RIS or aimpoint's on it. I'll just leave this here... I think a one point sling would work nicely too, but whatever works
