Do a little surfing around the web site. There are oodles of threads on Springfield custom builds although a little simple math should tell you that your expectations are more than a little off. The Base Bar 10 will approach 100.00 even if you get a good deal on it and the components needed to do the conversion are not going to magically materialize for free. Hairey Apple recently posted an impressive and very affordable approach for do it your selfers.. The least expensive I've seen folks sell their finished conversions that were decently done was $550.00 and that fellow went out of business. (Leaving folks on the lurch.) You should be able to do it yourself for around $250 to 275.00 in materials and while they are not hard work they are time consuming to build.
Good luck.

I believe I have about $150 into mine... without the gun. I did however find a way of doing it a little cheaper while building mine. Those $5 fiberglass stocks would have saved me about $20, and there were a few other things I could have done here and there. However, I have yet to buy the parts to modify the reciever, and also need sights or a scope and mount which isn't going to be cheap no matter what. If you already have the Bar 10, check out how I did mine. It was pretty easy however I've done a lot modeling kind of stuff when I was younger. If you want to try the route I went down, feel free to PM me with any questions that come up.

So according to Haireyapples estimate if you resorted to a composition stock and got sights and the misc bits he still has to acquire and the Bar 10 and did all the work yourself the cost will be around $275.00 to 300.00. (For materials alone!) Obviously provided you can manage it that's a heck of a deal for a unique, good shooting, unusual rifle. Building them yourself is definitely the way to go provided you stick it out and get them done.
Sadly to make sense A guy would have to charge 200 to 300.00 in labor for the time required. Anyone charging less is either kidding themselves or their buyers and one or the other will quickly figure it out. These custom build projects always take more effort and time than we think even when they are done repeatedly. Stuff just seems to come up.
