I agree with 2nd Bat, but we can always hope 400fps?? 350 with 20 grams is good enough for me.

Well, scouting the different forums, I have read two statements by members on the UK forums. First was that there is a rumor that A&K is producing the BAR, and another stating that it will be in the $300 zone.

The rumor mill is running wild this Christmas. The $300 sounds more like it (if its true). All seems a bit premature based on the info posted so far. The big problem with VFC's model is the wood parts finish is easily damaged and peels when around any moisture and secondly the stock screws and internal screws come loose very easily. It would be nice if the Chinese clone uses the composite black stock instead of wood and they fix the screw loosening problems.

If this thing happens and sells then the next order of business would be to suggest: 1. M1 Garand (duh) 2. G43 3. Skirmishable K98 4. FINISH THE DAMNED GERMAN MG'S!!!

He says he is personally dealing with the manufacturer. I'm sure they wouldn't want him to spill the beans on who they are. They might not want that type of media. Hounding them on getting photos and release dates.

I suspect he's the guy actually driving the bus and is putting out feelers gauging the response to determine if he wants to shell out the dough and effort. By all mens let's encourage him.

it's Frontiers on arnies. he's been pretty reliable and is not a manufacturer himself... just loves airsoft and likes to get the scoop for the general public.

That's actually encouraging news as it means someone is behind an effort enough to have caught his attention. Hopefully something will come of it.

I'm just pleased to see any news about WWII guns, and when there is a quote from a manufacturer even better! No one should really care about the FPS at this time. Just who is making them and how good they preform. Some of the problems we have seen and heard about here on some guns hopefully is being noticed. We know they can make the guns look good (at least most of them) but make them work good and hold up in the field. So save your pasos

AGM was making the MG42/34. So unless this is being made by AGM it has nothing to do with German MG's. I just hope those Chinese companies get off the MG roll soon and go into rifles. Anyhow I'd love to see a B.A.R under $400. I am sure it would sell, who doesn't want a B.A.R??

i was told KART is the one making this and that it will come with bipod and carry handle. why he shows vfc is because where else you expect them to make one? clone the JAC? not happening. gunners airsoft used to receive new high end brand airsoft guns and he took them straight to cloners. im scared of them making it, just hicap and that's it like a middle finger. so i dont know if i should jump on every vfc bar midcap like a live hand grenade.

Once again! any news is good news. So what if it is HI-CAP are you so undisicplined that you can't use it like the real thing? I will say that none of these clones are going to be cheap. Yeah the VFC is the high priced one but it has set the standard, so the others will be only alittle less. I will still take it!

Not sure what the first part means exactly, but if its a high cap, the bar magazine is stupid simple to make decent mid or lowcap copies (m14 mag + bondo), unlike those damn stg-44 magazines....

I am going to throw out there that I hope it doesn't shoot 400 FPS + Most responsible event organizers put 400 FPS as the maximum power for full auto weapons and I for one agree with the requirement 100% The ideal FPS is around 350 to 380 FPS for range and performance. Above that and the skin penetration effects inside 50 feet is unacceptable for most players and significantly higher than 350 FPS. The difference is not linear it's exponential above 300 FPS. I'd hate to buy a BAR and feel compelled to install a weaker spring although to get an affordable BAR I'd sure be willing to do it. A composition rear stock would be fine since many many issued BARs had them although I think all wood would go over better. The edition of a carry handle and bipod would be very cool although again not at all essential. Hopefully if they do a Bipod they will replicate the correct WW2 version. The VFC is one of the coolest airsoft guns out there so if they copy it at a lower price I'd be thrilled. The Kart M14 right out of the box incidently shoots at 328 to 335 FPS. I've had a couple of them.

Heya.
I'm a bit torn on the stock issue; if they make it out of something else than the Affordable Magic Chinese Wood (soft cheap wood as used in Marushin 98k and numerous cheapsofts), it would be pretty nice. Then again, a plastic stock might be more durable and better fitting than a cheap wood stock and take a bigger battery, if they make it right. However, with the LiPo packs, the battery issue becomes a non-issue. Blah, give us either one.
One thing I would like to see is some kind of an improvement on the connection of the stock to the receiver and the metal middle-piece assembly, as I think it is a bit overcomplicated. Otherwise the basic layout and construction is done quite well, at least on the VFC model. It even comes apart pretty easily.
I really like the BAR and would love to see a somewhat affordable replica. As a friend put it, "It's lines and shapes are from WAR!", and that's a pretty fitting description. ;D I hope they will make it heavy, so it will be a bitch to carry too and the crude ergonomics evolve to a whole new level! A real man's gun, yeah!

The sheer length and dated ergonomics create limitations even without the weight. Relative to most airsoft guns if it weighed half the weight of a real BAR it would be considered heavy by most airsofters. No doubt for it to produce the kind of dominence its appearance would dictate the firm rules we use limiting riflemen to low or real caps and semi auto fire would provide some upside to offset the physical bulkieness. I'd even be okay with a high cap for it given the role it should play as the squad automatic weapon.
I can't wait for it to come out regardless of the configuration. The VFC is incredible and if a KART or AGM or CYMA variant came along I'd be tickled and will buy at least one!

Yeah I agree for a BAR to be useful as a Squad weapon on the airsoft battlefield you need it to have a highcap and have limits in place so that semi-auto is the rule of the day.

I guess it would most likely come with hi-cap mags and dominate the field with other automatic weapons. Well, 300 bb's ain't too bad, but a midcap would be more than welcome. It would probably still take at least 120bb's, wouldn't rattle, wouldn't have to be winded and you wouldn't look like a twat when winding it. Of course, anything can be made with a Dremel, some epoxy and a beer or two. Like installing a short M16 midcap/lowcap inside the BAR mag... We'll see. Provided this thing will ever come out.

I hate hi caps so my preference is for midcaps or low caps BUT for a BAR I'd be happy with virtually any feed system short of ejecting shells. Like you unfortunately I know we're speculating on rumor and the remote possibility that this even in the develpoment stage. Let's hope it is.

Having shelled out as much as I did for my VFC and the 15 mags for it, I'm a little disappointed, but at the same time if it means I won't have to run around with high caps that are rare and expensive, then I'm for it!
