its not very popular and it wasent really even dug up untill this year. plenty of people knew the location before it was dug up but there were no funds for the project. now its just a really lame park ahaha. yet at the same time its kind of sad.

The "Zulu" war chants sent chills up my spine, when I saw it in the theater!! Oddly enough, when they made the movie "Gladiator", with Russell Crowe, they reused part of the soundtrack from "Zulu", namely the Zulu war chants! Some of them were used as the war chants of the German Barbarians in the opening battle scene in Germania.

I think i wore out my DVD copy of ZULU by re playing the scenes with the War Chants over and over again.
Using actual ZULU warriors was an awesome idea.

Weren't more Victoria Crosses given for action by a single regiment at Rorkes Drift, than any other time in the History of the British Army? Here is a You-tube comparison of the War Chants in Zulu and in Gladiator. www.youtube.com/watch?v=nG3N5E1epAI

Yes it was 11 V.C's , given to: * Corporal William Wilson Allen * Lieutenant Gonville Bromhead * Lieutenant John Rouse Merriott Chard * Acting Assistant Commissary James Langley Dalton * Private Frederick Hitch * Private Alfred Henry Hook * Private Robert Jones * Private William Jones * Surgeon Major James Henry Reynolds * Corporal Christian Ferdinand Schiess * Private John Williams

Well, dressing up as a civil war soldier would look kinda funny. The clothes are very itchy, they are wool

I saw a very cool airsoft weapon made to replicate a Springfield Civil War era rifle. It cocked by virue of the ram rod a BB was place in the weapon when the hammer was cocked back and a percusion cap was placed in the appropriate tray so it provided a report as well as projected the BB. With the limited range of Bbs nearly all casualties would have to be from bayonet and saber I suspect as one shot is all your rank is going to get off. Sounds a bit dicey from a safety perspective. Would probably not be far off from revolutionary war tactics.

We just need some of the soft rubber bayonets! :-D Uniforms wouldn't be too difficult, basic kit would probably be even be cheaper than WW2.

Sounds like it could be really fun. At least the shots would do something instead of all the seemingly miss fires we see at Civil War Public battles(not saying all battles are bad but the ones I've been too have been pretty silly looking)
Well if your doing WWII your gonna have to wear wool too unless you do PTO. Though I wouldn't agree that all wool is itchy. My US wool trousers are really, really, comfortable and not itchy in any regard. One of my wool shirts is courser and a bit itchy, the other(an officers one) is much better though.

I'm right there with you Fusilier! The uniforms are not itchy! Plus I'm sure some of my fine Texas work horses are cheaper than many WW II vehicles. It would be nice to see the feared Texas Hood brigade come storming down a hill. But the powder smoke and cannon fire really add the realism; I'm sure someone with airsoft manufactuaring expertise could try there hand at this...
