hi all! new to the forums here. I just recently got into ww2 airsoft. I'm planing on going the easy route and getting a thompson. My question is about the king arms midcaps will they fit in the 20 round mag pouches ? or will I need 30 round mag pouches. If i put this in the wrong forum sorry.

ah then what mag pouches do you suggest then? >> They used what is known as "Bag,carrying,ammunition,M1". Its a large pouch on a sling that was used to carry mags, grenades etc.Looks kinda like the British pouches they wore in front. You can fit a lot of mags in this.

Note that the 20 rnd mag pouch was also used to carry 30 round magazines. They just stuck out the top higher with the cover flap wrapped around 1 side. There was also a late war 3 bay mag pouch produced for the taller magazines.

The 30 round mags will stay secure in the 5 cell pouch once you wrap the flap around the magazine and snap the flap in place. If the magazines are wider than the pouch there is an easy fix , soak the pouch in hot water for about 10 minutes or so , remove them from the water then insert the magazines in the pouch slowly , the water makes the canvas stretch and once it dries it will have the right size for the magazines to fit.

Note that Marui makes a 20rnd style magazine but it's a high cap which holds 190 bb's. Adler is correct on securing the longer mags in the short pouch. It's like fitting jeans. I suggest you use real pouch and not a repro. They are still available and not too expensive.
