I'm looking to get a full metal gas blowback pistol for my US impression. Any suggestions on which 1911 I should look into? I'm looking for realism and authenticity.

My WE is very nice, but I only get about 5-6 shots out of the 15 the mag holds. I know its more correct, but my theory with airsoft, is 2 bbs, equal two bullets. Because a bb isn't the most accurate thing in the world. I use green gas, and propane, but only about 1 out of 10 reloads, I get the full 15 shots. Maybe someone could reply on this if they have any suggestions.

I really like my KJW but I have had lots of problems with the mags. My dad got 8 kills with it at Op Sudden Strike III.

The KWA ones are good. I've not owned one personally, but most of the guys in my unit have them and love them. They are metal and shoot great. They don't seem to suffer from cool down as much as some gas guns do.
I have a TM and I LOVE it. It's not metal, but it's abosolutly the best airsoft pistol I've used. More consistant the the KWA, holds more BBs, the hop up is awesome. The TM is a really great 1911, although not metal.

Plus the very low FPS in all their guns.TM has been left behind in the AS marketplace as far as I'm concerned.

I have a WE 1911 and i have to say that its the best GBB pistol I've owned. i dont have the problem deacon has i get a full 15 shots every time. the only thing is that the barrel bushing usually brakes because of the cheap metal used to make it but its an easy fix you just put a .75 inch rubber washer on the metal rod that goes into the slide spring and it works like a charm.

WA makes the best 1911 hands down. if you haven't owned one before, then you haven't truly LIVED.

Western Arms is the best ever made but of course the price tag reflects that. The KWA is very nice as well.

to be honest id rather have plastic than pot metal. or you can get the kjw or TM and upgrade to metal if anything breaks.

If you are willing to go for a $300 pistol, the Guarder metal kit on a Marui pistol is the best combo I've seen, period.
That's the route I took for my MEU and the result is a great, full metal pistol that has legendary TM reliability and accuracy.

i can imagine CNC'ed aluminum to be pretty indescructable on a tm 1911.

how does the plastic feel on the TM 1911? does it feel cheap and shiney or is it good quality? is it painted or is it the colored plastic? does it sound nice or does it sound hollow? is it weighted in the grip to make it heavy ?

The TM is very very nice. It looks and feels quite good and is extremely well made. The seals however will not allow green gas over time and is not as powerful as the KWA or KJW. (Japanese power restrictions) The Western Arms is overall the very best 1911. For the money the Chinese ones are fine.

what are the WA 1911's made out of? (the ones that say their metal) i own the kjw and i like it better than my WE. i also own the RS one too, my grandfather's in korea. i can tell you the KJW is more like the real thing than the WE. id like the original 1911, because not only A1's were used in ww2. in fact my grandfather's is a ww1 configuration 1911. just parkerised instead of blued. im sure it wasnt very common but there were some out there, at least in korea?

I'm a little bit of a cheapo too when it comes to pistols ... I bought a Y&P 1911 "NON" Blowback for $25 off of ebay and then weathered it to look real ... ww2aa.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=gear&action=display&thread=7853I know you said you wanted a GBB ... but for me I see a NBB having a higher FPS, easier to maintain, and uses less gas. Best to you, WhiteRook
