When I first wanted to buy a 4x4 in high school, I had wanted an wartime Willys or Ford or a CJ2a. However, I realized it was not really going to be able to do what I wanted it to do so I got a Land Cruiser instead. Land Cruisers look surprisingly military in an Olive Drab coat... I had a '51 Willy's CJ3a as a daily driver for a couple of years. Top speed: 45 mph, period. It wouldn't go faster than that downhill, with a tailwind and a sail. But I could drag a parked full size truck across a parking lot. It's all in the gears. ;D

Ha ha... with the inline 6 the land bruiser didn't get much over 55. Now it's got a 350 and it can cruise at 60ish but it gets hot going much faster then 65. Mine's not OD... its OSHA orange. Same color as a road cone. I love the cruiser though, low range and that thing can just drive up anything. Or over almost anything.

I actually found one in the brush out near where I live, I'm hoping to go have a talk with the owner and see if I can remove that "junk" from his brush for him... if that doesn't work see if I can buy it from him. It would be a sweet truck to own even if I never used it for reenacting... it would just be cool to have. are there any funtioning parts in it, the transmission will be tricky to fix if it is damaged

The body looked great. Once small area with rust, the rest was really nice. And looked very complete. THere were a lot of parts in the back of it... I am hoping to go there tomarrow and see if I can talk to the guy and check out the truck a little closer. I imagine the transmission would be the same as any 1940s' dodge truck... I have friend who collects power wagons and I'm sure any parts fo the weapons carriers he can help me out with. He actually as a 4x4 club that is ONLY military trucks allowed. A very cool group. Someone in that group has a weapons carrier that he actually took on the Rubicon. Impressive.

Here are some pictures from Battlesims Carentan game several years ago where a buddy of mine brought his 37mm anti-tank gun and gave gun drills training and then during an attack allowed the unit to deploy it against a bunker. It was a cool series of events to watch. This was four or five years ago and yes I realize how bad the impressions were. It was early in the progression of getting folks into WW2 airsoft and the uniforms impressions and gear have improved considerably. Sill a work in progress but growing and improving considerably.

Hey, a Red Bull! Nice! They just came home...
So, was that thing set up to actually shoot something, or just go bang?

Way cool! For some reason I really like the 37mm. It's just a cool little gun. I'd love to see a real one that is funtioning. The only 2 I've seen were at a park and all welded up and no tires or any of the small parts.

This fellows 37mm gun functions in every way shy of shooting anything. We just had a charge in the barrel for the smoke effect. When the unit aimed and "fired" a controller ran over and checked their sites to determine if their was a hit on the bunker gun slot.

Here is the link for the replica 37mm users.multipro.com/brentandloriann/index.htmIt's gorgeous of course but at $4,500.00 plus shipping Hairey Apples effort is very impressive!!!!! The vented side screen would be a nice enhancement to the effort visually!

It's a '53 Chevy. My dad bought it a number of years ago to restore. I think he's going to end up selling it though as he never really has much time to work on it.
