Looking for sources for METAL MP40 Schmeisser's, like those of the XM carbines that are excellent for photo shoots and displays. Does anyone have a *reliable* source for these?
Many thanks.

are you talking about dummy guns? Also note that all airsoft versions (except the $10 ones) are full metal. The dummy guns are made by MGC (Taiwain) and most airsoft shops carry them. Have you tried google? Note that MGC MP40's are discontinued but can still be found. Go here and type in search "MP40": www.wgcshop.com/ Lots of options

kalbs,
Merci mon ami!
I found the WGC version for $269. Its listed at about 6.3lbs; the standard MP40 was about 8.5. I assume the WWII (real) firearm was heavier due to the ammo. (Sorry, newbie guess).
Is this weapon *all* metal? I could not find this out on the main page, but would assume this weapon would be good for photo shoots and displays.
This weapon was one of the main battle weapons used by 3e BCCP in Indochina, 1947-1950.

A less expensive approach would frankly be to get an actual firing airsoft MP 40 (AGM) They would look fine for your photo shoot and you can have the fun of shooting them. Perhaps someone has an inoperative one that would be even cheaper? I was considering pulling out the guts to use in a project which would leave a perfectly wonderful shell.

The Denix ones are all over Ebay right now for roughly $250 and up. Non-firing display guns.

I bought a boneyard MP40 from Kapowee to salvage the mechbox. Anyone wants the shell, let me know. BTW, the only thing wrong with the mechbox was one wire needed to be soldered back in place.
