great job kat! it's oberst18 if you didn't know Thanks Oberst, the more I get done on the MG the more excited I get about it. I haven't done anything with the Kar.98az for a while (don't realy like the plastic Dboys stock so I'm going to make a wood one.) Figure worst case scenario for the first event I'd rather use the unconverted VSR and, have the MG ready to go because we Huns have to have at least one. Also going to try to crank out some grenades.

I Live Near St Louis on the east side of the river i would for sure come if i found a place to buy gear. Believe it or not, gear is not a as big a problem as it was a year or two ago. There are a few vendors offering repro helmets and, even more helpful, Hessen antique is selling Imperial german uniforms for reasonable prices. Checkout my links page 155jr.weebly.com/links.html and, I think you'll find putting a usable kit togather won't be to hard. That's one of the reasons I went with the Sturmtrupp impression they didn't carry alot of extra gear in combat so, what's required for a battle is alot less than what most blank fire WW1 units ask you to buy to get started. I also have no problem with a little cheating to start Sweadish tunic conversions, Hungarian gasmask etc.

I like Hessens uniforms,a lot! too bad they don't have any in a size larger than 40! Beats spending $400 on a TUNIC from Great War! I wanna build an early war kit for living histories and such. I always liked that kit.

I always liked that kit. Other sizes are supposed to be in soon. Way better than $400 heck, with a little luck you can almost put a basic impression togather for what a tunic used to cost.
