It says on The War Dept. forum that it's not happening this year for several reasons. So hopefully next year..

Hopefully next year. I really wanted to go, we had a number of guys who had planned to come up for this. We were all pretty sad.

The event is especially challenging to put on. The nature of the event calls for very specific venue requirements. It needs a place that can accomodate the "Aircraft" take off sequence allowing you to take a panel truck or trucks to full speed and then large open areas where you can make the night drops. (The old location had an emergency runway and huge flat fields which obviously worked well) In addition we required a place that could accomodate 100 to 200 participants for a prolonged, non stop, engagement with a road net and mixture of open areas and wooded sections. In addition it had to be bordered (either naturally or by fences so folks would not get totally lost during the night!) In addition pyro, flares and blank fire and explosions had to be allowed. The venue we have traditionally used is up for sale and we were not given assurances it would be available at the scheduled time of the event. Without those assurances we couldn't accept enrollments. In spite of an extensive search efforts we couldn't contract for another suitable venue. Very frustrating for the War Department. We have time to find such a location in time for next year and it is our sincere hope we'll find something. The search is on in earnest.

In addition to Tom's WW2 Airsoft event's, I do believe the 12th SS will be sponsoring a WW2 Airsoft event later this fall near Sacramento. Things have picked up locally. The games aren't as big or as dramatic as Jump To Destiny, but they are still a blast and are drawing good local turn outs. You'll be seeing some 12th SS and 502nd at Tom's future games and visa versa.

Thanks for your patience and understanding. Next year for sure!!!! In the meantime Toms efforts with the Regiment are exceptional and definitely worth supporting. (As are any WW2 efforts) The group there truly "gets it" and I have heard great things about them.
