My friend and I want to get together basic Italian impressions and I was wondering about uniforms. I want to do a impression based on the defense of Sicily where his grandpa fought with resistance. I was looking around and here is the list of German uniforms. www.hessenantique.com/Wehrmacht_Officer_and_Dress_Uniforms_s/23.htmI thought these would be a lot cheaper to get but if the Italians did not use them, i would not buy them. The Italian Link www.hessenantique.com/Italian_Wool_Uniforms_s/709.htmCan someone assist me in finding the right one? Also can someone list out some basic gear for them to? Thanks....... Red

hey sorry for late reply. DON'T Buy the german unifomrs, no Italian soldier wore German uniforms. It all depends on what unit you are portraying and what era. If you want to do standard infantry (Regio Esercito) buy the M40 wool uniform with M40 pantaloons and leg wraps. This is the same for Alpini (mountain troops) and Bersaglieri (motorized divisions and infantry). If you want to do a Folgore/Nembo Paratroopers impression You would need the M41 collarless tunic and M41 long pants. Currently Hessen antiques only has the tropical version in stock which was used in Africa, but there are rumors of him restocking the wool M41 which would be correct for MTO impressions and Decima Mas (essentially Marines) impressions. And if you want to do an RSI impression which is post armistace, troops that fought with the Germans after the Italian army surrendered, you can mix and match wool and tropical clothing. Italian camo pants were big in the RSI. If you have any questions shoot me a PM and I can provide basically whatever you need
