Keep in mind man that although it may weigh the same its way more cumbersome to carry. Its like carrying one big weight vs carrying 4 small ones that equal the same weight all at once . Ya know what I mean?

yeah i know what you mean. which is why im kind've going to combine two weapons. i like the range of the kar98k but i like the auto of the sten so, i will get the cyma m1a1. my dad got me the cyma 1928 for xmas and i bought 3 hicap stick mags from my friend. im trying to do either an early war british impression, a PTO Aussie, or a Market Garden American.

Soldiers were only issued ONE rifle,a sidearm if they were an NCO or officer. If you were in an MG team, the A-Gunner would have a rifle, the gunner, just the gun and a sidearm. Look at real pictures, and watch original footage. See what they REALLY carried. We all like more than one weapon, but try humping 2 or 3 around then come back and say how cool it is..

I dont think the average soldier carried 4 weapons into the field. If you are serious about WW2 airsofting I would suggest starting small:
For a Kraut impression I would just get the AGM MP40(it's proven itself to be a nice skirmishable weapon for a low price and would perfectly fit the NCO role) and a Luger or P38 as a sidearm.
As for the allies just go with an AGM Sten or CYMA M1A1 Thompson, I have the CYMA and it's an excellent gun. For a sidearm just get one of the many 1911 variants out there.

First just choose what you'd like to do. Since your joining up with my unit I'd suggest you get a rifle as that was the most common among all troops. Either a B.A.R-10 or an M14, both can later be converted to a WWII weapon.
