even if he is, service shoes and jump boots are exactly the same, just that the jump boots go up higher

Hey Charlie, in the pics with your Tanker, do you have a raincoat or a poncho slung over the back of your cartridge belt? Just curious.

The patch of leather on the heel is also two pieces, as opposed to one on the service shoe. It's really stitch-nazi, but I was just wondering, out of pure curiosity, I'm not criticizing.

There not exactly shaped the same either. Count the lace grommets on the Service Shoes then Count the Lace grommets on the Jump boots. You will see there is a difference. The jump boots slant up at a higher angle the the service shoes. Here is an example picture of what a Jump Boot would look like if it was cut down to the Type 1 service Shoe length. s252.photobucket.com/albums/hh11/Fighten3rd/?action=view¤t=12.jpg

Great lookin pic! You need regimental pins on your collar (depending on unit), regimental pin on your garrison cap (depending on unit), and/or a patch (depending on unit). Also you need infantry piping to match that collar disk you're wearing.
Hell...a few minutes on photobucket and ur golden!

Thanks a lot guys on the feedback. I haven't altered the uniform yet, its from a 32nd Infantry vet so it has the patch and cpl stripes on it, it also came with a unit citation and good conduct ribbon. I even found a few white hairs in the cap . Ill probably get an already piped cap on ebay for cheap waldo

To Pvt.Russel; I don't know much about glider units but I have some simple suggestions, Get a 1937 wool shirt and a 45 pouch. One question why do you have such a high rank? Unless your in a unit that gave you that rank, I think you should just stick to Pfc. For your Airborne Impression I suggest you get rid of ,what looks like a Black shirt, your wearing under your Jump suit and get a period OD one also get a 45 pouch. Other then that your looking good. ~sgttom

Correction sgttom, a 'period' OD shirt isn't really historical unless it is one of those tank tops even then a wool shirt would go over it.
Also on the topic of rank, I dont mean to criticize but isnt what you said a little hypocritical? I think that unless you have more than 15 guys, awarding yourself the title of Sergant is over the top.
And Russel, I am sorry but with those errors I wouldn't really deem those pics (at least the para one) Stitch Knot See worthy. Post 'em in the I'm workin on it thread please.

To Click: I knew that they were not just OD T-shirts but I didn't know what they were called. Hence I just called them Period OD one.

Yankee ~ Those are interesting leggings what are they I have not seen those on a US soldier before. They are not leggings CN, they're M43 Combat (or "double buckle") boots. Depending on the unit most front line troops in the ETO got them between fall '44 and spring '45, excluding a few units in the MTO. <YD>

Mrevolution , nice pics , specially the Belle in the background , only a couple of things i see need changing , don't have the guys holding the weapons on the Tacticool carry mode , and unless he wants a bullet trough his head that doc better put down the M2 , or don't complain when a German sniper targets him , once he picked up that M2 he stop being protected by the Geneva Convention , he is now fair game.
