The second one down is a bad repro. They were only made in Splinter B. Thje two after that...yikes..lol No S*** Sherlock . Photo #3 is the first and only unit made Jump Smock from the early days of FJ re enacting , FJR2 from So . Cal. wanted to get as close as possible to the original smock , so as not to use real ones , so out of their own pocket they made their own Splinter B pattern pattern fabric and then made their own smocks , no one outside that unit ever got any. Photo #4 is also a first run of G-max smocks , the first ever made by G-max. Those are the best reasons to own them , they are not common even for elitists re enactors who think they have it all. The Splinter A smock , it was $10 at a thrift store , so what if it's the wrong pattern , i like collecting camo and gear , not really care what other people think , i also like showing it to you guys , seems to me out of all the members of the forum only 3 of us like posting our collections , i could stop and let the forum be about nothing but whinny guys making fun of the new kids who ask questions because they are curious about a part of history they don't know about.

Hey, don't stop posting. You've always got interesting stuff, even if it makes the purists gag.

Do you need a man hug dude? I like your pictures. Interesting history with the modern repros I think.

For what its worth I enjoy seeing your kit collection Adler but *personally* i'd have not put up a pic of an 'incorrect' type of smock without labelling it as 'hey guys this is what they *shoudlnt* look like' etc.
A lot of new guys use these forums for reference and without that knowledge are potentially going to go and buy themselves something incorrect off ebay because they saw it in your collection and therefore linked it with 'good kit'.
Like I've got post war 49 pattern converted battledress, *wardrobes* full of various coldwar kit and soem dodgy repro german kit but its not worth putting it up out of context.
Thats just how i see it.
Nice smocks though, any chance of a post edit with the pattern type, manufacturer, approx worth/rarity and any key notes like 'only worn in 1945 etc'
That woudl be really useful i reckon.

Sadly I had to buy a knochensack beside my gebirgsjäger uniform... Sadly because my non WW2 team selected flecktarn beside OD as team camo... so yes flecktarn... My question: what kind of sidearm will fit in thoose holsters on knochensacks (some of the versions do have them) I would be happy if it would be about period correct with my GJ impression. I read in osprey's tha they used P08, PP, P38, FN Browning, Sauer 28H which of thoose will fit in thoose(without high risk of falling out)? I think Luger P08, or FN Browning... I have a springer M712 and I'll test it at weekend game, hence I think it's too big (I addition I think it wasn't so common by both GJs and FJs). Thanx!
