Ok, I know this is probably annoying, but I'm having a hard time deciding what to get for my first WWII impression. I've had a Thompson, Garand, and M1911A1 for just about forever but haven't gotten a loudout because of the lack of WWIIsofters in Maryland. Should I go US Army with HBTs or USMC with P41s?
How much were US Army HBTs used by the Marines on Guadalcanal?

For the Marine Corps on Guadalcanal, I would stick with the P41 utilities. Use of Army HBTs by Marine Corps personell seems to be pretty limited throughout the war. They do show up in a very few photographs, but it is definately the exception and not the norm. As for the Army on the 'canal, it really comes down to the specific unit you are portraying. The 25th Infantry Division, for instance, was in mostly 1st Pattern HBTs and HBT coveralls, as you can see in this photo: img.photobucket.com/albums/v45/godspeedyou/WWII%20Research/25thID35thIRGuadalcanal.jpgOther units, however, were in the denim fatigue uniform and khakis. It all comes down to which unit that you would want to portray. What is right for one could be very wrong for another. A lot depends on which theater you are wanting to do. For the Pacific, a set of HBTs will get you through most events for Army, and a set of OD utilites will be good for nearly every campaign for Marine. But, for the European Theater of Operations (ETO), I highly suggest picking up a set of wools and an M41 field jacket, as this will give you the basics to expand upon for most European-themed events (which most events are). That being said, which theater are you looking into? Hope this helps, Shawn

Hey me and my buds are from Central MD and are looking for recruits/playing field. If you are interested I should warn you we are just kids who are very interested in WWII and you may not want to play with middle/high schoolers. Thanks
