Tan and water camo (Sumpfsmuster '43 and '44) was issued to the Heer and the Luftwaffe, not the SS I'm afraid.

Nope. That smock wont work for FJ either. You'd have to get a type 3 jumpsmock and Tan/Water for that to work out for you

Go regular Army! you won't have those camo decisions to make! We need MORE regular German troops. We have gobs of SS and FJ's as it is already.

Very occasionally, but I've only seen photos of them in either Splinter pattern or Italian pattern and it was mainly NCOs and officers wearing them (most of the camo caps were either field made or private purchase items it seems). I've only ever seen 1 photo of a private wearing a splinter patern M43. On the other hand since camo items were in relatively short supply you'll notice that where soldaten are wearing multiple camo items they were quite often mis-matched.

Regular German Heer units were not issued camo on a regular basis, with a few EXCEPTIONS. Try to use as little camo as possible. The only thing camo you should have is a zeltbahn.
People have to realize, camo was in its infancy back then, and NONE of the Armies of the day wore camo uniforms on a widespread basis. The Waffen SS was the first to do so,but even later in the War as transport and supply lines were affected, a lot of SS units wore very little camo. Camo caps for the Heer were never manufactured, only field made. The ones the vendors sell today are strictly fantasy pieces. catering to all the camo whores out there who think they should be dressed head to toe in camo. As I said, keep the camo to a minimum. I know, its not a COOL as teh SS, but its more correct.

You can always wear your Zelt for camo but it's going to be hot.

Most snipers didnt have any special camo either.
being a sniper is about field craft, positioning, patience, slecting a good hide etc... not a ghillie suit and a cannon.
A good example (for once) from hollywood would be enemy at the gates, note neiter the russian or german sniper in that film use anything other than a rain cape. Note i hate to use films as a reference (espeically one based on a folklore premise) but it's quite accurate in showing a significant lack of camo on both sides.
In reality snipers for all nations did have specialist camo but there was *never* enough to go around.
As the other guys have all said, WWII isnt about tons of camo. TBH the plain field grey or khaki look is way more iconic and cooler.
WWII airsoft is desperatley short of quality infantry impressions and perversely turning up a s a regular landser makes you look really unique.

Zack, Forget about sniper, we are using weapons that are barely accurate or travel more than 70 yards. A standard infantry impression is what we need more of in our group! You should concentrate on buildind that first!

Well to be honest to the point of being potentially rude.... you're probably in the wrong game mate. WWII airsoft has close ties to wwii re-enactment... it tends to be seen as the 'right' thing to do to accurately represent our forefathers who fouhgt and died in that conflict rather than create loadouts based on whats 'cool' or 'what you'd like to fit into a loadout'. Camo is rare, the US army wore practically none in NWE, the British Army had camo smocks for the airborne and in the last year camo suits for the infantry and the russians had camo suits for scouts and engineers... that was loosely speaking about it for the allies and for the axis you're looking at smocks and helmet covers for a proportion of the SS and zeltbahn tent covers for most. Its not a camo war, its far more about wool and webbing tbh Regular heer infantry can be very cool, its incredibly iconic tbh I've posted this before but see here how cool this section of *airsofterrs* (note not full on re-enactors) look. This was my regular heer impression, truth be told it coudl do with a bit less bling. helmet look chuffing massive in those pics but i've since adjusted the liner, its actually a normal size helmet i just think the lighting and angle make it look weird.

Let me add to the chorus. Heer all the way. It is way under represented in both airsoft and blankburner reenactment. and off topic a bit...Gadge you bloody well look like Dark Helmet of Spaceballs in that thing..

I know its weird isnt it, in other pics it absolutely fine.. here see. *warning* camo oveload as it was raining really hard all weekend and i wanted the extra layers Again pea dot on over wool here as it was freezing in the snow.... See what i mean though, same lid, occasionally a different overspray of paint but its not *that* huge, its the right size and liner for my head size of 7 3/4!

I think the breadbag straps dont help as the make the whole lid look the same width as the 'flare' on it!
