You occasionally see pea dot jackets with fedgrau trousers, most combinations can be seen in one or two pics. Remember the pead dot suit wasnt issued until march 44 and it was withdrawn about seven months later in october/november as it was just too prone to wear and damage. Jackboots/marching boots become less common past 1942 and tend to be worn by older soldiers who have retained them. The low boots and anklets were called 'retreat boots' for a reason. They took a lot less leather to make than marching boots. Bear in mind by 1944 the german army was making a lot of non load bearing 'leather' items out of compressed cardboard called 'prestoff' as leather was in short supply and you'll under stand why they stopped making tall marching boots. *however* exceptions do happen, i have pictures of 2nd panzer moving up the line in normandy in june july 44 and many of them have marching boots including some very young looking recruits... that coudl quite possibly be because they still had stocks of marching boots in very small sizes left.. i dont know. If you're doing a peadot look it looks more representative with low boots. its a fallacy that dot44/peadot was never worn with marching boots but its just *very* uncommon. Before you buy a peadot tunic *please* get yourself a regular feldgrau one. Feldgrau tunic and trousers are the building blocks of any german ss or heer impression and should realy be in your possession before you even consider anything 'special'.

And as a rule the 'earlier' and more representative your kit the more events you can attend.
A set of fledgrau and marching boots with an side cap lets you do anything from 39 to 45...
buy a pair of fantasy oakleaf trousers, pead dot m43 cap and a reversable pea dot parka to be a camo god and not only does it look daft but one of those never existed, one of them was field/tailor made only and the other was incrdibly rare but i've seen them all worn togehter by people who just dont care about history - just being head to toe in camo.
You could do worse than reading the 'at the front' website. While its a commercial site and there for every biased it is increidbly well written, informative and amusing.
And please dont think i'm getting at you, i'm actually trying to save you money in the long run and help you fit in with more stuff. Trust me, nearly *everybody* wants all the 'sexy' camo stuff when they start.... they buy all sorts of tat and then realise later they look *nothing* like the archive pics of WWII and then start getting more 'basic' and stripping down the impression.
I spend over £150 GBP on heer splinter camo when i started out (reversable parka and a smock) and I've worn the smock *once* at a battle and never worn the parka as its too hot to battle in and greatcoats more useful at night. If i'd have listend to the advice I'm giving you now I could have bought either better quality feldgrau or more useful field kit etc.
