Wow I didn't know any of the battleships from that era still were afloat. Of course i'm so old I remembr the launching ceremony!
Walk softly and carry a big stick. It looks just like the pewter gameboard piece from an old monolpoly set. It's got to be saved!

Unless somebody comes up with the money the ship is good as sunk... too bad. Seems some people like it to sink because it represents American imperialism. History is history and we wouldn't be where we are today because of it.
I read in another forum that the US Navy has sent word to "Reasonably Dispose" of the ship. It comes from the org itself.
"Reasonably Dispose" I think that means to get the USS Missouri and ram the USS Olympia (since nobody cares about history anymore) or let the Spanish government to blow it up (seems our government likes to apoligize for everything these days) or something...
I always loved the design of these ships, everytime I play monopoly I always use the ship piece. lol

We should tug it down to cuba, and when it mysteriously explodes in havanna harbor, WAR WITH CUBA! Just kidding, but seriously, this is a FLAGSHIP from 1892!!! a miracle it still exists!

It's a miracle it didn't end up in a WWII scrap metal drive. Probably should be permanently drydocked. Get the hull out of the salt water.

Very, very sad that it's got to the point it's at. I really hope that it can be saved and not be sunk or scrapped. There are few enough historic ships left, no it would be a very, very sad day to see this ship gone.

Go look up the U-505. That is what they should do with this ship.

Go look up the U-505. That is what they should do with this ship. That would be perfect but that is such a huge ship where would you put something like that. I think that is the problem the ships (owners?) face is where would you put something of this size
