Just got this poster today. Beautiful 17X22" print. Thought maybe someone could use it for a uniform/gear reference! When will we have an FG42 airsoft rifle?

Zak, I PM'd you about the poster. Looking at that picture, for being 60 years old, the FG42 would not look out of place if you saw it being used on the battlefield today. Amazing looking weapon. Way ahead of its time. Someday I hope to have this laying in front of me

That would be a very cool Chinese gun to knock off and offer affordably! Along with about 10 others.

I talked with Schmitty about this awhile ago. The gearbox appears to be a modified Version 2, but a Version 2 does not fit in Schmittys Shoei. Also, you still have the problem of the magazine being behind the gearbox : \

The gearbox appears to be a modified Version 2, but a Version 2 does not fit in Schmittys Shoei. Also, you still have the problem of the magazine being behind the gearbox : \ Why even go AEG. Could a solid propane shooting gas version be made somehow? Semi-auto would be fine for me if if shot hard. Gas guns require a lot less internal space. Charge the magazine with gas, slap it in and fire. There seem to be some really clever guys on this site. I am confident there is a way to do it.

That Ebay FG42....Is it a kit? I assume the buyer is expected to paint it, but even then I don't know how accurate looking you could make it. And 400 dollars isn't exactly "cheap". If it was 200 or less, I would buy it and have fun trying to modify/paint it to look real. The overall receiver/grip/barrel casting looks good, but that wood foregrip is horrible...like a child's toy. Here's one he painted and it looks much better. It sold for 529 bucks! Ouch cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250058505770

Dude, I'm sure you could mod a BV unit to fit in a Shoei Fg42. Or if you want to do some thing extra. Send a E-mail to Escort and ask them if they can make a custom one.

wow you can really see why they put a bipod on the fg42!
it's basically unusable on full auto with out any kind of support.
mp44 is a much better weapon, on full auto, you can actually keep it mostly on target through the whole mag. The fg42 is like a full auto garand LOL! only the first bullet is anywhere near the target.
Ive seen fg42s shoot blanks alot, I have never seen them fire live before Thanks! -Gordak

Well there was the M14 right.
I wonder why the Engineers did not use the 7.92 kurz ammo for the FG42.
PS:That video sounds EXACTLY like the gunfire in Day of Defeat dodambience2 file. Lol i can notice small thnigs

Here are some rare Fallschirmjager/FG42 pics I had. The guy with the Mp44 is a Gebirgsjager. The funny thing is, there are very few photos of German paratroopers with FG42's. Many of these were from a German site dedicated to the history of the FG42.

actually it was hitler who prefered full size cartriges to kurz! thats why the mp44 was called an mp before being called the stg, it had to be called an MP to literaly sneak its production past hitlers nose. hitler finally gave it the ok after hearing about its succes and it became the sturmgehwr (late night spelling) i saw dat on da history channel

Cool pics!
The first pic: Looks like the guy with the FG42 has a standard K98 bandoleer.

The first pic: Looks like the guy with the FG42 has a standard K98 bandoleer. I didn't even notice that. Maybe he threw down his K98 and picked up his dead buddie's FG42? That Gran Sasso posed pic on the right was a huge file. I shrunk it down almost 75% to post on here. I was thinking of printing an 8X10 of it and framing it as if he's a relative or something (lol).

The 2nd Fallshrimjaeger in the first pic has an Italian M38A beretta. Cool guns in that poster there!

This is a 90% version for you. Print it, frame it and put it up on the fireplace mantle. This guy is ready to rescue Mussolini from the Gran Sasso hotel, but he has time for one quick picture. The chicks back in Berlin love paratroopers! Smile and say "Käse".

More pics....Keep the thread alive!See the color poster on the bottom right? I would pay good $$$ to have that in a 24X36" size to frame.

Cool! That kit is an AEG kit for a Tokyo Marui M16.
I wonder if there's a source for these in the US?

Are you talking about the link I posted? If so: Not really, the gearbox is from an M16 - but look where the motor is. Its heavily modified.
