Seems there were several events last year in the SoCal area. Perhaps a PM to one of those guys directly would let them know you are interested.

Awesome! Thanks for the info, paladin. I have two other friends who are interested as well. Two of us have german impressions already along with a pair of AGM MP44's and a D-Boys K98 Mauser. The other guy has a Matrix BAR along with an american impression. I'm slowly trading out my modern weapons for an AGM Sten Version 2 and a Hexagon PPSH-41. My friends and I play at Warped Ops in Castaic. We're usually the ones running the WW2 gear.
Paladin, where exactly is Sedona? I'm pretty sure it's off the 118...

You know the Matrix B.A.R hasn't came out yet, right? I think you mean the VFC B.A.R.

Back to the topic, (arisen from the dead as it may be) Sacramento Airsoft is talking about doing a WWII game in Jan-Feb 2011. Last I saw it hadn't been decided if the game would be in Northern or Southern California, nor a date set. www.sacairsoft.com/

The 502nd is still alive and so is the French partisans. The 502nd is working on getting schedules cleared. I'll be down there at the very least representing us, but hopefully we can pull down some more numbers once the FJ guys get the game officially posted.

I was at Warped Ops this Saturday and I got the word out in regard to this site and the upcoming WW2 airsoft re-enactments at Sedona. There was a lot of interest expressed! Some even mentioned buying WW2 airsoft guns and kit for it! If you can create a flyer and post it via PDF on this thread, I'll hand 'em out at the field and the airsoft shops that I frequent. Which battle will be re-enacted on February 26?

we are developing a D-day +5 or so scenario.
*update* intel posted to this forum today
the event design is intended to be a 'start the season' game and as such has a very broad net for impressions allowance. anyone willing to do some effort, or who has even a partial impression should be able to participate without much drama.

We are currently looking to build unit rosters for the following units to participate in our on going events . were hosting our 6th event this saturday and looking towards a more active summer schedule.
The units are intended to be general unit types not specific units so that we have more dexterity in creating scenario events around whatever battle we choose.
contact me in this thread to indicate your interest or PM me and you will be put in contact with that unit coordinator.
were looking for committed people that can attend games and are willing to build their impressions.
German : Wehrmacht/ SS panzer grenadier German : Fallschirmjager Regts US: infantry Rangers, basic leg impressions US: AIRBORNE 101/82nd etc
A lot of people ask and many are in the SOCAL/NORCAL area they just need to be effectively roped in. were hopeful this is one small step in that direction.
Thanx

I know its been a while since anyone posted on this thread but I would like to add that my unit and I have attended two of the WWII events the Regiment has put on and it really is a small scale Jump to Destiny, very accurate and a lot of action, very good job of period correct obstacles, bunkers, and holds.. thier events dont leave you bored and wondering where to find battle.. I highly recommend attending both WWII and non WWII events they have to put on especially if youre looking for period correct reenacting both past time and current, cheers kids.. -Eddie

I don't know about anyone else, but my weekends tend to get commited well in advance, particularly in the summer. Plus, going to the L.A. area means committing three days in a row. I need a pretty long lead time.

It kind of depends for me. My m42 jump uniform is too small now and i barely have any money, which im saving for a thompson. My friend trendyn will wear my m42 uniform. Id have to where my m43 jump uniform instead. So i guess u could count 2 airborne guys for me. Could u give me a little backdrop on what Operation or battle the next event will be? If it was Normandy or pre normandy i wouldnt be able to where my m43 uniform. I would end up going as infantry.

largely looking to get the LA southern CA US airborne players to group up. between the ones that have already atended games and those I know to exist in the area we should be able to come close to a full 12 man squad.
getting everyone to stay tuned in seems the challenge.
Mike at this point were not hanging everything on theatre specific impresions, juts good impressions so a market garden one mixed with normandy ones wouldn't be any issue.
we are workign on finding some property here that will allow us to run an event with an expanded player base and more space to manuever. thats proving tough. if anyone has an leads we'd love to hear about them
outside of that we are trying to tie down an event in august currently with a possible Ventura area game in july on the msaller side of things

unlikely that we will do N africa. we are having a hard enough time to get folks around the more standard impressions. yes we do hold events near box cyn in simi about 3-4 times a year we are holding an event on septmber 17/18 if your interested and live in the area. OPERATION BERGSPITZE its also on this forum or you can check here www.theregiment.us/Bergspitze2/its an Italian front event so any N african impression you might have US or german short of Afrika Corp would work THE REGIMENT

2013 update: SOCAL WWII EVENTS
currently we are in a once a month rotation on WWII events. we are aimed at the fourth weekend saturday or sunday. WE just wrapped a great and lightly rainy event this last weekend.
WE are currently looking for dedicated and geared participants interested in the squad level experience over plain run/gun shoot em ups. A healthy mix of action, patrolling, digging in etc .
Currently looking For:
ABLE COMPANY : US AIRBORNE: either 82nd or 101st impressions normandy campaign base. We currently have a potential roster of 13 paratroopers and are looking for more to build out our 'platoon'
Kampfgruppe Melick: German force focused on Fallschirmjager and SS troops. Open to any core German unit from Normandy INfantry welcome. The ad hoc "zug' currently has a potential roster of 15 mixed FJ/ SS. If it fought at normandy we'll make allowances.
If your interested PM me and I will run the details down for you.

here are some images taken during event play at our last 'Scattered' Normandy themed event. full gallery: s254.beta.photobucket.com/user/paladin1944/library/scatteredMost of the images are also at the end of the day which had gotten hotter than anticipated so the impressions have loosen up from the am. this is from our Tactical event series focusing on various small unit Normandy actions. Of note we have a whatever's on your face is off limits outlook for impressions thus the numerous beards/ face masks etc. Our focus has been on squad cohesion, tactics over fine point impression details. Thats said things progress well 25 participants a full 12 man squad of 'Abe Company' paratroopers with some Glider-men support and a 13 man element of "The Kampfgruppe' of mixed Heer reconnaissance Plt troops and FJ. we have held events once per month since november and will continue to do so . If your interested and live in Southern California register for the forums at www.theregiment.us/forums/index.php?sid=8c508b32349ccf6a9d0b8f25328cf717. clicking through that link should prompt a registration . sign up we'll clear you especially if you note ww2 interest.
