Gentlemen:
A few of us are considering offering a WWII Event in September of 2011 that will use the rules outlined below as a guide.
The event will be objective based, meaning that there will be a winner and a loser for each scenario. We plan on 4 scenarios, 2 in the morning and 2 in the afternoon.
The proposed date will be 9-17-11. There is camping available in the parking lot and we will have registration open Friday evening.
Your review of the attached rules with any feedback is most appreciated.

A. Uniform Requirements
Allied Forces (US / British / Commonwealth):
Level 2 – Any authentic WWII reproduction uniform from the ETO, circa 1942-1944.
Level 1 – Any Solid Olive Drab BDU.
Level 0 – Any Green based BDU.
Any M-1 helmet or soft cap appropriate with above. Gear to match Level of Impression / Loadout shown above. No modern helmets of any kind.
Extra strategic incentives (i.e. points - TBD) will be assigned based on the number of Level 1 and Level 2 participants.
Axis Forces (Germans):
Level 2 – Any authentic WWII reproduction uniform, circa 1939-1944.
Level 1 – Any Solid Gray Based BDU.
Level 0 – Any Tan based BDU.
Any period correct German helmet or US PASGT helmet w/cover to match impression or soft cap appropriate with above. Gear to match Level of Impression / Loadout shown above.
Extra strategic incentives (i.e. points - TBD) will be assigned based on the number of Level 1 and Level 2 participants.
French Resistance Fighters:
INVATATION ONLY
Old style civilian clothes. Raid the closet or Goodwill/Salvation Army for a button up work shirt, chinos, maybe a vest, suit coat. We will provide you with an armband for French resistance. Don't forget a newsboy style hat, beret or fedora.
Unarmed French Villagers/Civilians:
INVATATION ONLY
We have a need for role players that will be needed for Friday night and Saturday. This will be a noncombatant but vital role it will also be FREE to attend I think your acting and role-playing will be payment enough. Old style civilian clothes are all that is required.
B. Weapon/Magazine Requirements
Any airsoft weapon can be used.
All modern weapons can use an unlimited number of low or mid cap magazines.
All period style weapons have no magazine restrictions
While any weapon you currently own will be acceptable, you are to wrap the barrel of your modern rifle in burlap straps to hide its “modernness”.
Semi Auto/ Auto function. All period appropriate airsoft replicas will be allowed to use their full auto function. Modern select fire weapons will be restricted to semi auto only to simulate the typical standard issue bolt action or semi auto rifles of the period.
Good choices for period appropriate airsoft replicas at WWII Milsims are the German 98K, German MP40, German MP44, Thompson M1A1 or M1928, British STEN.
An M14 used in semi auto only is an acceptable substitute for an M-1 Garand. The M14 in semi auto is also acceptable for the German Gewehr 43. Any bolt action rifle will be encouraged.
If you have a full size MG or SAW you want to bring and form a two man MG crew with a friend please let us know in advance. We will have special rules just for you.
Level 2 – Any period correct WWII replica airsoft gun.
Level 1 – Replica M14 or modern bolt action rifle.
Level 0 – Any modern (post 1945) replica airsoft weapon
Extra strategic incentives (i.e. points - TBD) will be assigned based on the number of participants with Level 1 and Level 2 airsoft weapons.
C. Rules, Ages, and Waivers
The minimum age is 16 for this event, 13 if you have a guardian with you at all times.
As always, those under the age of 18 will still need a guardian to sign their waiver.
All other standard Springfield field rules apply.
D. Communication Equipment
Individual solider radios communications will not be allowed. Communications from command to platoon / squad leaders will be the order of the day.
E. Pre-Registration Required
You must pre-register before the event. There will be a $10 non-refundable pre-registration deposit. This fee will be put towards your full event fee when you register. We need you to register before the event so that we can fully plan the missions better based on a known quantity of participants.
Registration cutoff is Friday, xxx xx, 2011. If you can't get registered by then, we will see you at the next one.
Personnel switches will be accepted up to the day of the event.
