This is the latest iteration of my custom Mosin Nagants. This was many months in the building because I have school and such and I as an artist and as a tinkering kinda fella just had to keep tweaking it. The buyer has been very very patient with this and I hope he feels it has payed off. Real steel for comparison. Not mine. Overall picture of the MN. You will notice the bolt is forward pretty close to where the real steel version would sit. Close up of where the bolt sits on the gun. Bolt up ready to cock. Detail of the bottom of the gun. I came up with a new mag catch idea and it seems to work well. It's a spring loaded trap door that holds the mag in. Welded steel plate and epoxy putty modeling for the win. While it is springloaded you can still grab it with two finger pull up and then rotate the door to get to the mag. I think it is pretty snazzy but I am biased. Couple things I would do different. The rear sight. I ordered a 91/30 sight they sent a carbine sight. I didn't realize it until I got everything on and painted to match so I kept it. The on/off safety knob for the back. I moved while working on this and it is one of the little things that has come up missing. At any rate I hope you guys like it. The price was 400.00 before shipping. Yes I know that is 4 real steel Mosin Nagant 91/30's The amount of work put into these justifies it to me, and I hope the new owner appreciates it.

Thanks fellas. Now to ship it off before the customer comes looking for me...also to add a couple things the bolt handle is a real steel bolt handle welded to steel plate and a steel bolt ring just that ridge on top is epoxy so it should be quite strong compared to the pot metal bolt handles. It is also not upgraded and is stock FPS somewhere around 300-350fps I think. It is based on a BAR10 so it is easily upgraded with all the usual parts.
Couple other things when dealing with me people should realize a few things. A. Please understand I'm an artist and as such work like an artist meaning I am prone to hold on to something and take as long as it takes to get it right for me to be comfortable sending it out. This means I give a applesauce I hope that would count for something..lol and B. If you want something cookie cutter like a TM gun from a home shop custom builder you will not be happy. These are handbuilt and not injection molded.

That is the best one I've seen! If I wanted one i'd be fine paying $400 for one that good. Has anyone ever considered using an actual bolt handle from a mosin? You could take a bar 10 or vsr and cut the bolt handle off, and sand down the remnants, then weld a mosin bolt handle or preferably (I wouldn't like ruining perfectly fine gunparts) a replica mosin bolt handle further up on the bolt, modify the reciever and you have a pretty close mosin action. And chrome the metal, of course, and attach a stock to the gun and other parts and you have a low cost mosin nagant!

Pretty much what I did with this one except welding a steel handle to the bolt ring made of pot metal that comes with BAR10's will not work. You also can not weld a bolt handle to the cylinder directly. So this is a complete bolt handle welded to steel plate and then a steel ring. 3 part deal wish I could do it with less steps. Chroming metal is something you would have to send the part out to get done. It uses specialized chems and process that I don't think would be advisable for small home hobby shops. It would also cost a bit of change.

Yeah I don't know anything about chroming. Some company needs to produce a good one for around $150. Well add that to the unending list of WWII airsoft guns we want made!
