As a percentage of folks recieving decorations the 100 RCT and later 442nd RCT was the highest decorated unit even before they upgraded many of the DSMs to MOHs much later. My wife had 3 uncles who served with the 442nd. They quietly and humbly (according to her uncles the Hawaiian members weren't so quiet!) did their duty and set out passionately to prove their patriotism and honor their families. Amazing men. My son has a tatoo on his Arm dedicated to his uncles and while I am not a fan of tatoos I have to admit I like that one.
Go For Broke 442nd! When Tets passed away (One of my wifes uncles) a spokesman from the 442nd gave tribute to him. His sons and daughters didn't even know he had served. Quite sad really.
