Yeah your right. I'm not even going to buy it, as I already have an M14 ready for a conversion. I'm more excited about the zeta lab Mosin Nagant.

Doubt those pictures are real. However Morganm the thing is, an M14 conversion won't look as good as the ICS Garand. I already have two Garands which are almost finished so I probably won't be getting it either though. Still happy that its coming out!

It's great it's coming out, it's just I don't have the money myself. I'm buying an almost complete US infantry impression (wools, haversack, canteen, firstaid pouch, M43, patches, tie, gaiters, boots) and after that I'm assembling a basic Russian Impression, so I'm tight on funds. If, I ever find a gap between US gear, Russian gear, and 22. Target shooting (new trigger for my Ruger 10/22 rifle) I may get this.

Dboys and ICS are coming out with M1 Garands? I really really hope they are'nt kidding. And to have an M1 Garand that's 6mm and loads throught the top like the real one has never been built. I'd prefer a gas one, they're more fun then AEGs I think. But since Marushin does'nt make M1s anymore, I've had to wait and wait.
I think so far only Marushin has made M1 Garands right? Unless you get the conversion for the M14 like I did, so I'm probably not going to get it. But definitly good to see there will actualy be WWII airsoft weapons besides SMGs

I just found out that later this year Marushin is making a more affordible M1 Garand with improved gas system and it's 6mm=) So Marushin, Dboys, and Ics are making M1 Garands!

its raining garands . I just hope the gassers have a reliable source of replacement parts, as i don't want to be left with a proprietary piece of junk if it breaks.

OK ... I'm putting my M14 back together and putting off my M14/M1 conversion project until this subject gets a little clearer.
As long as we have an AEG with some type of clip that holds at least 8 rounds ... I'll say it is skimishable.
While I applaud the Marushin for authenticity ... it was not practical for the clip to pop out when empty ... a la the original.
As with the DBoys 98K ... very authentic but impratical to actually use in the field.
I'm hoping for the best ... but a 6mm GBB Marushin might be the best in show

Yea I am counting on the ICS to deliver the goods though. If Marushin could make their Garand design more reliable that would be great though.
10targer, Its a rumor, though I don't know if there is any truth at all to it. Don't know where it came from. Same thing with the Dboys not sure who put it out there.

The Dboys was said to be showcased at the 2011 Toy Fair in Hong Kong so I not totally sure on that one either. I better not keep my hopes up though.

Pipe dream, pipe dream, pipe dream! Until I see one for sale for immediate delivery (not pre-sale) and read good reviews suggesting it's actually reliable enough and powerful enough to skirmish with I'm just not going to let it capture my thoughts. I'm sorry to sound so skeptical but these rumors and announcements of promising new offering usually end up being hot wind and the debilitaing effect of me constantly getting my hopes up only to be crushed with disappointment later has gone on for about eight years now!
I hope I am way wrong in this case but I'm afraid I won't be. I am making these predictions emphatically so I can happily eat my words!

Uh yeah, over and over and over. Made me crazy until I just sort of gave up. Actually I'll never give up hoping it finally happens. It will literally change everything (IMO)

Marui, CYMA, King Arms, AGM, Airsoft Club, Shoei, and assorted brands I never heard of. The rumors seemed to spring up everywhere and from all kinds of sources. Guys I know well who were in China on business trips and supposedly saw racks upon racks in warehouses ready to ship. (That was about seven years ago!) Sources who swore the prototype was finished , tested and it was just a matter of gearing up for productions. I even sold components and parts (dirt cheap I might) add along with dimensions and drawings, diagrams and ideas, to contacts who were going the facilitate the production and insure it would be done right.
I think in many cases the intention truly was there to make it happen but eventually it just became fruitless dead ends. I am confident it will happen but you're all younger than me so in your case it probably will happen in your life time.
It's already extended beyond my realistic ability to play.

I think the reason no company wants to make one is because what we want is way to obscure. A bottom loading, non-clip ejecting M1 AEG is too confusing to most people. Most likely because it's not true to the real thing, and companies don't understand the point of a semi-automatic AEG. It could also be because the modern airsoft market is way bigger than the WW2 market. Everybody just wants an Armalite variant or an AK variant. People are turned away by the fact that you can't mount your waffle maker on an M1 Garand. We're lucky Marushin even made one. However, if ICS does make one, then I'll be first in line (even though I've already made a Garand AEG )

If it was made right with the right price tag, I am sure it would do fine. Part of the reason WW2 isn't as big is there is such a limited amount of actual weapons available. (That was about seven years ago!) I am confident it will happen but you're all younger than me so in your case it probably will happen in your life time. It's already extended beyond my realistic ability to play. Thats sad..... I hope ICS doesn't share the same fate. Maybe this time we are lucky.

+1 On that one sgttom. It's a great vision. instead of everyone going buying thompsons, they could buy Garands, and the field would be way more realistic. It could be the ultimate US WW2 airsoft beginner gun. But hey, there is promise. There's been a lot of WW2 weapons spawning recently. the ARES M3, WE FN Browning High Power, King Arms Thompson, and the new to come ARES 1928 Thomspon. Maybey with the growing WW2 airsoft guns we'll get our Garand? I'm young and stupid too, so I'll probably be completly wrong anyway ;D .
