The guy from ICS is saying they are making it

3:20 he says ICS is working on an M1 Garand but he says "it's in the early stages" and when he said this, that was about the Grease gun. When he asks about the M1 Garand he says "if you want something good you could wait". But I can't wait

To all those who don't know about the dboys garand, marushin made a kar98k which was great and the dboys sucked D boys is trying to make a garand because the marushin sucks, but marushin is making a new improved garand

Actually the Marushin Kar98 wasn't very good. It wasn't easily upgradable and was shell ejecting. The Dboys is clone of it and has the same problems pretty much. If the Dboys and Marushin Garands come out I hope they are designed well and upgradable though.

Why upgradeable? I mean wouldn't you rather it come out of the box as if it didn't any extra money put into it?

Yes but very few rifles come perfect out of the box. Its best to have your gun be compatible with some main stream upgrades incase you want it shooting better or if something breaks. Honestly I doubt the company that made the Dboys Kar98 is going be releasing anything exceptional. The least they could do would be to give us a base gun we could use to upgrade. This isn't always true though. Something like the Tanaka K98 wasn't very upgradable. I have never heard of them breaking though. Plus they cost $500. If you want a $200 gun don't expect it to work all to great out of the box.

I'm starting to think the M1 is going to be delayed for a looooong time. My friends been emailing them like crazy but never a reply. Also their reproduction of their non-GBB M1 Carbine is going to take forever.

The manufacturing sector in most of Japan is quite significantly impacted by the earthquake and will be for some time. Even those factories not damged or destroyed the effect of power losses and inconsistent availability of electricity and transportation issues means many things (especially new development) will be significantly pushed back. (Perhaps by as much as a year or more)
Car companies throughout the world are just now discovering how dramatically this will impact production. Even companies like BMW that had very low dependance on parts from Japan are discovering that essential tiny electronic components will halt or delay vehicles they thought would not be impacted. This event is a much bigger deal than most people realize.
The Marushin GBB garand and revised carbine are way low on a critical priority for these companies that are probably scrambling to simply get back into operation. With China corruption and instability are always looming on the horizon delaying or erradicating new builds. Airsoft is technically illegal in China so manufacturers there depend entirely on how consistently greased the officials are and how well they manage to get them to "turn the other way" Failure to pay often gets company presidents jailed and worse. This is hard for us to fathom in the west but it is a way of doing business in China.

The good thing is that China guns are now assembled in Hong Kong or Taiwan. Only individual parts are coming from China, not full guns. You may have seen a price jump on China guns, this is why. Fortunatly ICS is a Tawain company. The problems in Japan should have little impact to ICS. 2nd Bat assesment of Japanese companies like Marushin is unfortunatly true.

beep... beep... beep... beep ... And now the News from around the world ... Taiwanese ICS (I CHIN SHIVAN ENTERPRISE CO.,LTD.) are teasing further with a ‘coming soon’ message. Both the M3 Grease gun and M1 Garand are confirmed as AEG’s. The M3 takes a lipo through the end cap and uses a custom gearbox and Thompson magazines but there are no details yet on the Garand’s magazine or loading system ...These ICS engineers have my vote! Battery in the body with EZ access and using std and EZ available Thompson Mags! Genius! Attachments:

Way to go ICS! Looks amazing so far. I am guessing the Garand prototype is plastic hence the color.
