Looks like it! and most likely the converted shotgun mags, like in the 2nd Bat conversions.

The mag top on the drum appears to be an m16 style top which means any of a number of possibilities will probably work. Hopefully the clip they finalize will be flush mounted, will be somewhere around 12 to 24 rounds and in a perfect world will be inexpensive and will fit in the garand pouches for the cartridge belt and bandoleers. If its not too late for ICS, it would be wonderful if they replicated an early war Garand with the slotted gas assembly screw and the stamped handguard clip which are highly desireable and on ebay tend to bring rediculous money. The cost of replicating these simple "style" parts would be the same and would represent additional value if released that way. While they are at it add rear site locks! These trivial points are "nice to haves" but in no way essential. More importantly just get this bad boy done and in the marketplace. Its been a long time since i saw the prototype at the shot show a year and a half ago. they made it soud like it was imminent then. Now they are saying 2013 . Aaaarrrrrggggggg!

Are you as anxious for a Garand AEG as I am? Yikes what is taking these folks so long?

i had heard somewhere that they will offer both which in my opinion will be ideal. Either way I just wish they'd get off the dime and get them released. Their facebook page suggested an award FREE Garand will be shipped in time for Christmas? I have no idea what the parameters were for the contest but wish Id gotten in on it.

OK, here it is: www.facebook.com/ICSairsoftgun?ref=streamOnly fifty more shares until it's full. They'll give everyone a number and will pick the winner by using the last three digits of the Dow Jones industrial average (closing price) on dec 4th.

500 Share mark as already been broken. I guess sharing more is pointless since they said first 500 shares are in the raffle.

Quote from their Facebook page:
"We never stop working on M1 Garand....
We're glad to tell you guys that our M1 magazine capacity upgraded from 23 rounds to 42 rounds, and one M1 Garand comes with 2 magazines.
and for the durability test, only the trigger contact switch carbonize after fired 18 drum magazines (59400 rounds), rest of internal parts still work well."
AND an Estimated time of them shipping out :
"January 15, if the heavy rain can stop in Taiwan so the linseed oil can dry more quickly."

I am not against low capacity magazines but in the end they are still low capacity. Plus I'd wager they magazines won't be cheap so the less we have to buy the better.

I too like the 40 round capacity as it will probably garner more wide spread enthusism for the product and render it more affordable. For authenticity one can always load fewer but obviously you cant load more. Given that it is semi auto in a field of full auto guns and given that its power will probably just be equal to without exceeding other aegs the compromise to authenticity seems justified. When i use a semi auto in skirmishes i usually fire off three rounds in quick succession so the hits at range will register as hits. Hence a 40 round clip is really like a 12 round clip in some ways before reloading becomes essential. With 40 round clips and a speed loader a player could be quite competitive with 3 total clips. Certainly five would be plenty.

you took the words right out of my mouth 2nd bat! 1 mag of 40 would be about 10-12 shots to effectively strike kills. maybe sometimes you get lucky and actually kill more guys with one mag than bullets would have allowed, but lets face it thats a rare day for even the most agro player.

update on the contest: "The give-away prototype is loaded with M120 spring, muzzle velocity up to 448 FPS. Let us know if the lucky winner want to lower the velocity. Due to the legal issue, We CAN'T send this AEG to minors. However we'll make you guys up next when we have accessories for lucky draw." Alright, 448fps with a 120 spring is awesome and means it has some serious air seals, or they aren't shooting .2s .

Wow thats crazy. Guess its not that hard to believe considering AGM's MP44 shot around 420fps. I would definitely downgrade it a bit though.

Often the chinese present FPS based on 12 gram BBs no one uses. I suspect this might be the case. I have no issue with semi auto rifles somewhat above 400 FPS.

They still have those inaccurate looking butt plates. Oh well extremely minor flaw for such a long awaited rifle!

I Like what they are showing a lot. The clip has a zig zag rather like the GnG M14. The M1 bolt release button will release the clip so it should pop out nicely. Clever set up. they are now indicating Jan - Feb which means. Mar - April if we're lucky.
