I got my cyma thompson from bizcuits a little while ago (btw great seller) and I was now wondering as the airsofting season draws closer, what can I do to upgrade the Thompson's FPS and RPM? I was thinking new battery, new motor, new tappet (it was shipped broken - I'm sure not the sellers fault), and perhaps new spring. But could someone tell me how to open one of these up?

I personally would not upgrade the spring on the CYMA Thompson. It already shoots between 350 and 380fps. The other upgrades sound good though, although I don't see why you really need a higher rate of fire. If you want better accuracy you may want to get a tightbore barrel, new bucking, and nub. There is probably a guide on taking apart the Thompson on Mechbox.com
