Top Pots, www.toppots.net/main.php?do=home&action=home is a very well known website. Cheap Uniforms/gear. The only problem I see is they are one of the few websites selling m1 helmets and they are very expensive and are said NOT to be used for protection, on a lighter side they do have insignas for the helmets, and some helmets with insignas and helmets are marked Grade 1 condition (perfect) or Grade 2 (Good) so buyers are prepared for what they get. J. Murray, www.jmurrayinc1944.com/ A less popular website sells fairly cheap m1 helmets for cheap no insignas, and says nothing about quality (I emailed them asking about it and am waiting for a response) and says nothing about protection AtTheFront, www.atthefront.com/Sells helmets and some expensive uniforms. Helmets are cheap with insignas and accesories but say that their helmets might have dings and when hit by and airsoft pellet can cause serious injury. I wouldn't care if there is a bump but safety is a key factor to me. Has anyone bought any products from any of these companies and if so, any reviews?

I can't see airsoft bb's going through a steel pot. I own an ATF helmet nad have never had an issue were I was concerned about my safety.

The steel pots are the same, WWII parts just means real WWII chinstrap and liner. for $100 less the economy one you can get a 50s liner and chinstrap so that doesn't really matter. I'm about to buy an M1C from them along with paratrooper boots and then I'll be 95% done with my airborne gear. Also I can't imagine airsoft bbs going through the steel pot, the guy at ATF seems like he hates airsoft and he doesn't really know too much about it.

The helmets are fine, I wear them all the time. ATF's rebuilds are nicely done and hold up well. The description is there to ensure over scrutinizing is within reason and for liability. buy with confidence

I own three of those, they are nice! I would recommend these to use in the field, as you wont feel too bad dinging them up during an event.

You wont be disappointed. Like I said I have three, along with a number of Front seam helmets. Once you put the netting on them and get them a little dirty, you cant really tell the difference.

Toppots is just fine. I have one of their helmets. They are fantastic as far as I'm concerned.
The only reason they say the helmets are not to be used for protection is that there is no such thing as a bullet proof helmet, particularly a simple steel helmet. Also consider when buying a used helmet that has been refurbished that a lot of soldiers used their helmets as a pot to cook in over an open flame. The act of putting a flame to the helmet causes the steel to weaken over time and thus does not have the same impact resistance as a helmet fresh off the line.
Buying from either company you will get a great helmet. Just don't try and stop any bullets or bulldoze a building while inside of it and you should be fine.

J.Murray sells reconditioned helmets, the paint and fittings will be new. Consider them as replicas of the WW2 helmet. He uses WW2 shells and liners where possible. I have 3 shells and 2 liners from him and they are amongst the best in my collection.
