The receiver looks tricky. If you're not to strict about 100% accuracy with regards to looks, you could probably chop up an L96.

Enlarge some pics of the Lebel receiver and you could probably extrapolate the dimensions. The 8mm Lebel cartridge is 2.8 inches overall. You could figure the opening in the receiver is more or less three inches. Figuring out how to do the bolt would be tricky.
A Lebel would be a great weapon for French resistance fighters.
