Someone emailed me this list of questions, I have no time to go through it all
anyone wanna take a crack at it?
------------------------------------------------------------
1) Do you know of any local units to eastern PA/NJ? I've searched the boards, but most of those posts are several years old.
2) Appropriate places to start for uniforms? Ideally I'd like to go Allied, but will eventually have several, I'm certain.
3) How strict are the guidelines in terms of impressions? I.e. if I do a 5th Rangers Impression, will I be allowed to participate in an event that does not contain a 5th Rangers unit? I recognize the interest in maintaining a level of appropriate historical accuracy, and I want to contribute to that - hence the research into what units are around me/what units most of all are played during the NE USA events
4) Where is an appropriate place to search for weapons? From the pictures it seems that a majority of allied players run with a Thompson, I'd be far more interested in running a BAR or M1.
5) Are there particular rules or restrictions to participate in WW2AA events? I'm new to Airsoft as a hobby, as well as the Impressions, so I don't want to miss something technical.
6) How active are the forums?
7) How active is/are units in the NE USA? Once a month/once three months, etc. It looks like a large event every few months seems the norm (how large?)
8) As far as impressions go, are their restrictions or is is relatively free? I'm obviously not going to run as General, or even higher up officer, but for personal and familial history reasons, I'd be happiest with an Impression that is First Sergeant, Ms. Sgt. or a Lt. I'm assuming the 'units' don't have a formal rank structure anyway, and a person's impression's rank is more about the decoration and gettng the 'feel' of small unit combat correct.
I really appreciate your patience with me, and as I am new, the power restrictions, types, and design of the Airsoft guns are an obstacle as well.
I feel like once I am in contact with a few people, I'll be comfortable enough to get my impression going, and I'll work on the weapon details later.
Very much looking forward to beginning this hobby - Thanks again
