I agree. But I'd wait for the ics the battery in mag was a huge downfall for the ares model.

The Hudson Grease gun has been reviewed numerous times but long ago and fresh perspective is probably worthwhile. The blow back action of the gun is quite pronounced and it is a fun gun to shoot however they have proven extremely unreliable and not at all durable. They are NOT a skirmishable weapon for an airsoft event. Either the Ares or the upcoming ICS would have to be much much better although that is absolutely not saying much at all.
Even with the battery in the magazine the ARES would be far more consistent and effective for an airsoft skirmish. I had two HUDSONs and had one that was converted to an AEG which I was quite pleased with.
GBBs simply don't perform well enough for events as a primary weapon.

I have the gun and I have to say I like it quite a bit, I just hardly ever shoot it. Externally the gun I mpressive but I think the ares grease gun is also good in those terms . My Grease Gun is one my favorite guns but because it feels so heavy and real externally and I never actually fire it.
Regarding Recoil, I think this might be the most realistic in feel. It has the hardest recoil out of all the guns I have.
Now this is the part that is a given, when I do shoot this gun it's a real pain. This thing will jam 40% of the time. The FPS isn't too good eigther at around 230 FPS. The golden rule of airsoft is gas guns are a pain (quoting 2nd Bat)
TokyoModelCompany sells Hudson grease gun mags if you know how to search for it. (But I'd recommend waiting for the ICS which looks quite promising)

Another golden rule of airsoft is: You get what you pay for.

Another golden rule of airsoft is: You get what you pay for. Actually, this doesn't apply to the hudson greaser. It's really expensive for mediocre performance. Similar to Marushin and KTW.

Actually in the first few months these things came out you couldmget them for a good 150 dollars, which is (I never thought I'd say this for a GBB guns price but) pretty decent. The mags were 40 bucks, but they were heavy and felt real which actually proves nkrs point. They only time where you don't get what you pay for is when you buy from expensive Japanese manufacturers like marushin.
