Hello, I have been looking throught the Stitch-Knot-See and I'm Working on It threads, but I'd thought I would post this anyways. Can you please post a picture of you wearing your best, most authentic looking uniform and gear? This isn't for criticism, I just want to see wsome really really good impressions-and there aren't too many on the Stitch Nazi thread; that is besides the Fallschrimjaeger who seem to be the most numerous type of soldier in the entire Wehrmacht now-a-days(I HATE seeing 1000000 pictures of Fallschrimjaeger, especially one in particular but don't take it personally.). So if you have a good Wafffen-SS or Heer please post

9thss, boots are a bit dodgy but otherwise it's not a terrible impression, one of my early ones when i was like all new to axis kit... overdoing the camo. Note it's worn over the wool uniform though so it's less Flaggrantly Wrong. Not all of me but a lot of my kit, some of Tom and some of Dieselmonkey in their kit too and the French SS one is Cookie. Most pics however been used in articles I've written for Airsoft International and WWII Reenactors Magazine over the years.

Other than being too clean, the only thing that sticks out to me is the y-straps. They may be original but they're probably not German ones. The construction isn't the same. Check out www.atthefront.com and see how they should look. Overall, I think you're doing well to start and I wish we had a bunch of people with your enthusiasm doing reenacting!

nice kit and pics iamthedevil but you have a few things to work on, first you have a m42 DD helmet, m42s were the last variation of the German helmet and it was very rare to have even a single decal m42 also the belt in your mg42 is upside down the metal clips on the belt face up for the weapon to feed properly, next you have k98 pouch's with a mg42, now this was done but if you are the designated gunner for your unit then you should have a mg gunners pouch with a sidearm, then your y straps look to be post war with the rivets and padding under the leather this is wrong for a ww2 kit they should have no rivets for the back stitching and no padding, and lastly you look to have a blue bread bag from the pictures, if you are doing ss this is wrong, only LW troops were issued the blue bread bag not infantry units or ss you are off to a great start but not yet a Stitch Nazi kit, if these things were fixed then your kit would be spot on and awesome

I started not to say anything and then said "what tha heck" I see people picking out cloth and rivets and bags, ect, ect, ect. If someone has a rivet out of place or a decal in the wrong place, why not simply send them a PM outlining everything they are doing wrong. I am happy they are posting pictures on here and love to see the impressions. I don't care to hear them being berated about how wrong their impressions are. I am just happy they are doing the impressions and I am sure that when they go to a battle or two they will hear how wrong they are. If it is all that important for this forum, why not post photos of each piece of uniform and exactly how it is to appear. Short of going back to 1942 in a time machine and buying a uniform I doubt that anyone at any meet will be 100% correct.

Thing is, the title of the thread is "Best Impression Photos". Otherwise, what is the point? No offense meant to anyone. But with a thread title like that, we should expect the best impressions and photos right? I mean, there already is a thread for the more-or-less half baked impressions (again no offense meant). I have yet to post a picture here because i don't think i have a photo of myself fitting the criteria of "Best impression photo"...

well jettalewis, by the name of this thread its meaning to post you best pictures of your impression, so i looked at the photos and was giving constructive criticism, if i was to pm iamthedevil and tell him what i thought was wrong with his kit i would be helping him and no one else, by posting in this thread i leave my opinion of the kit out in the open for other people to agree or refute me thus helping people with their kit if their doing it wrong or if their doing it right. thus other members can look at the thread for information and hopefully in the future stear clear gear that is incorrect for their chosen impression.
if you want to have a thread of just pictures that is fine but specify the criteria in the beginning, but by doing this it may be cool to show off your kit, but if no one can give constructive criticism then no one will be helped with their kit

I'm jealous of all these good looking pictures. I got a kit, but the only pictures are bad quality and taken inside my house. Hopefully I can get some good pictures out next month when I take it to apiblic game...then March when I might go to a WWII event. Fingers crossed. Anyway, here are my low resolution pics. Sorry, this should be in the "working on it thread". Attachments:

These are all very helpful and the input remains civil, respectful in tone and constructive. The degree to which our hobby leaps on detail borders on bizarre but such is the nature of at least one large apect of our past time. (for some people more then others) The German camo variations seem never ending but I'm not sure which I like better the kitted out Heer troops look very cool as well. For me that is the classic German soldier.
At the recent Battle of the Bulge airsoft event one of the things that really impressed me was the willingness (almost eagerness) of all the players to fight in full regalia. Both sides kept their packs, mess kits, bayonets and spare pouches even to the detriment of their airsoft effectiveness. It was very cool visually and for random contact quite authentic. Please do NOT assume you need to be at the level of the folks depicted above in order to be welcomed at an event. This are aspirational NOT mandatory.
