registration now open @ www.theregiment.us/Bergspitze2/ teaser trailer: please check in on THE REGIMENTS site for further details/ forums/ registrationwww.theregiment.us/Bergspitze2/Event cost: $30.00 - REGISTRATION will require buying your spot through paypal. This will be handled through the event homepage shortly. There will be no walk on enrollment as we MUST know who is attending before hand in order to plan the event. See registration rules below, please sign up if you intend on participating. Schedule Saturday sept 17th: 3pm- on. Camping, drill, small unit patrolling. Sunday sept 18th: 9am-3 pm Drilling/ patrolling/ Unit engagements Major game notes: There will not be any lunch served at this event, you will be asked to either bring period rations to eat during an on-field/in-place lunch break or return to the staging area to feast on whatever bounty you have stored in your vehicles. Please note there will be a small amount of blankfire weapons on the field that will be used by experienced reenactors and staff members of the game to add an additional element of atmosphere to the game. You may wish to bring ear protection if you are sensitive to loud sounds. While we respect the historical background of the period we are recreating, our goal is to capture the feel of squad level combat in WWII in a greater proportion than as a "living history" exercise. This should explain why we have chosen to simulate a fictional battle with an assortment of varied Units that is set into a greater actual historical backdrop. WE feel it best represents the proper flavor of the theatre of battle and the scenario needs we have while also paying a certain homage to the countless 'unofficial nicknamed' and unnamed roadways, hedgerows, ditches, hills, and patches of ground that soldiers from all nationalities fought and died for and by doing so have the exclusive rights to name. The event website homepage will have impression guides for attendees to this event. We have a Partisan role that has very easy to comply with authenticity standards and is a great entry portal into the WWII experience. The partisan unit is run like any other military unit which is not only authentic its more effective in crating an experience. We welcome any questions about gear, uniforming etc and encourage you to ask first as we are less likely to be approving thing the day of the event than prior. If you can substantiate a WWII impression you will not be turned away (show up in modern gear or make little to no effort though and you will not be allowed to participate). For those with real period Allied or German impressions, tropicals/ HBT's for the Italian front1944 are the principal uniform but any continental uniform/ impression will be accepted as well. The only thing NOT acceptable will be Eastern front or Pacific theatre impressions as those simply are not listed in the order of battle for this particular scenario. nor will any grossly non period attire be acceptable. we ask that either russian impressions be converted to communist Italian partisans and US marine impressions be converted to look like US Infantry to participate. We have information regarding this on the event homepage. images of past events s254.photobucket.com/albums/hh90/paladin1944/last%20stand%20at%20outpost%20Vitirollio%20Event%20series/s254.photobucket.com/albums/hh90/paladin1944/bergspitze%20I/

ALLIED FORCES SCENARIO OUTLINE The roadway to the Italian town of Frazerino has developed into one hornets nest of an issue for the allied advance one its way to the PO Valley. At nearly very switchback and roadway intersection a brutal point blank battle has been wagged between determined German hold outs and aggressive allied armored units. For the last several days fighting has wagged around intersection #23 approx. 6 Km south of the outskirts of Frazerino. Things were looking better and better for the local Allied command. While everyday was a tough fight the Germans were slowly relinquishing their stranglehold on the roadway. Weary troops pulled off the front line fighting at intersection #23 found a quite respite in the secondary lines approx. a mile down the road from the main fighting. Collection points and aide stations servicing the tired and hungry dotted the roadside locale along the route to Frazerino. That night as the Allied troops slept, they were quite unaware of what the morning would bring them. Ripped from their sleep to the sound of small arms and mortar fire the surprised Allied soldiers scrambled for whatever cover they could find and quickly realized the Germans were impossibly upon them! Objectives: Scenario One: Chaos! Allied supply depots and aide stations come under intense assault form German units that have managed to slip through the lines to strike at the vulnerable secondary allied positions along the roadway to Frazerino. Squads are hastily put into defenses to fend off the German assault • Defend and recapture as many aide stations and refit depots as possible • Maintain HQ defense throughout the scenario. • Place mine fields to defend HQ Scenario two: Break the Chain! Allied resistance regroups in an effort to maintain the vital roadway link to the Frazerno front line troops. • Defend and maintain all three roadway check points to ensure an uninterrupted roadway. Scenario Three: Break out! After successfully regrouping amid the chaos of the surprise attack, allied forces move to capture and eliminate the German attackers: • Capture key points on the last ditch defense hill. • Effect capture as quickly as possible in an effort to cut off retreating Germans • Capture as many troops as possible. GERMAN FORCES SCENARIO OUTLINE Operation Bergspitze II Overview: Italy , The ALLIED advance on Frazerino. German Perspective: The roadway to the Italian town of Frazerino has developed into one hornets nest of an issue for the allied advance one its way to the PO Valley. At nearly every switchback and roadway intersection a brutal point blank battle has been wagged between determined German hold outs and aggressive allied armored units. For the last several days fighting has wagged around intersection #23 approx. 6 Km south of the outskirts of Frazerino. Day after day the Germans have successfully held up the allied advance, but time continues to run out for the German retreat. In an effort to buy more time an ad-hoc Kampfgruppe Zephyr was formed , chosen from available Fallschirmjager, SS and Heer Infantry units in aide/ collection points in Frazerino. The plan was to utilize small foot trails around the mountain passes to put the formation in a position to strike the enemies center and sow as much chaos in one bold strike as possible. The plan aimed at disrupting the Allied assault to gain a dividend measured in weeks rather than days of delay. KG Zephyr set off at dusk in an effort to strike the following morning. As the sun rose over the center of the Allied supply line units pushing their way to Frazerino a very unpleasant surprise broke the silence of the morning……..The unexpected Assault of KG Zephyr was underway! Objectives: Scenario One: Chaos! KG Zephyr strikes the mid point of the Allied supply line to the troops fighting their way to Frazerino in a bold morning surprise assault. The key initial objective is to scatter local Allied units and establish a forward operation base to launch an attack on the highway support line. • Capture and disrupt as many aide stations and refit depots as possible • Move fast hit hard • Avoid mine fields and wire positions Scenario two: Break the Chain! KG Zephyr moves to severe the Allied supply route feeding the front line efforts on the roadway to Frazerino. • Disrupt and occupy key junctions along a major roadway artery for Allied support to the front lines. Scenario Three: Break out!KG Zephyr moves to retreat back to the German lines after successfully disrupting local allied efforts. A staunch rear guard is left in command of a key position covering the Kampfgruppes retreat back through the mountain passes. • Hold key points on the last ditch defense hill. • Every 15 mins the positions hold, the Germans effect a greater percentage of units escaping the action. Operation Bergspitze II AAR: Thanks to all who attended, it was a great day with excellent weather in one of the best forested fields available to SOCAL players. Special thanks to AEX -airsoft extreme who sponsored this event with some great AEX swag as well as a raffled MP44 won by Trendyn Emchoverall: Small turnout to camp out and set up but all was done easily by 6pm, the cold mountain air drove us to our beds early to warm up. the day ended up with 27 participants, quite a few less than Last year but the heavy forest of the battlefield camouflaged the numbers making it seem as though there were twice that number on the field. Great sportsmanship with very limited airsoft drama. some limited blankfire added ambiance and some addition theatre. we had four well entrenched aide stations complete with mine signs and barbed wire entanglements. The engagements were very active throughout the day seeing lots of good squad on squad tactics usually devolving to fire team actions with the lower numbers but most got to see WWII tactics in much better display than events past. The more open battlefield gave a much better opportunity to put text book drills to practice. Impressions were really solid, we did not have to resort to use of the partisan role as we had a full allied impression base of US airborne, Infantry and british Military. Germans were well represented By Fj's and SS Soldaten. my camera broke so I lost the great photo opportunity hopefully others will have some to contribute. we look forward to building more solid units for folks to join to further enhance future events. if your interested let us know by joining the regiment forum and participating in the discussion there. ALLIED:US troops that were mustered into checkpoint #21 found themselves under the military jurisdiction of the british Military at the post. The Post commander addressed the morning assembly reminding the troops what was expected of them. Posts were set, entrenchment improvements begun and a small patrol sent out to secure a checkpoint. That patrol shortly encountered an entire german Platoon that was part of the main attack into the rear lines of the allied advance on Frazerino. Reeling from the vicious assaults throughout the day, the allied units struggled to maintain security on its aide stations and supply depots. Later in the day during a short pause in the fighting the British Commander parlayed with the german kampfgruppe commander to offer terms to the dwindling assault force. The Germans resolve was unbroken and the commander not at all interested in the terms offered simply quoted the allies at Bastogne with 'NUTS!'. The allies finally pieced together a strong force of second line units and drove the german holdouts protecting the escape route of the assault force from the field. German: Kampfgruppe Zepher , having slipped through a series of mountain footpaths found itself in striking position on the allied middle lines. Finding them relatively understaffed the assault force went into action in an effort to disrupt the allied supply line in every way it could. Mounting one vicious assault after another the german assault captured one aide station / supply depot after another. The day proved to be very successful for the raiding force which after suffering a large number of casualties, dealing a tremendous blow to allied reserves, and declining the motion to surrender set up a blocking force to allow what remained of the kampfgruppe to escape back to the german lines near Frazernio. The forlorn hope defense held as long as it could until combined allied reinforcement pulled off the line near Frazerino routed them from the field killing or capturing what remained of Kampfgruppe Zepher.
