This is a movie about the famous Tuskegee Airmen. Any WW2 enthusiast, model maker, or RC plane pilot will already know who these men are and what they did. And, if you don't know, here is the trailer: trailers.apple.com/trailers/fox/redtails/I must say this has got to be the 2nd best WW2 airplane movie ever made(beaten by The Battle of Britain of course).

This is the second movie about the Tuskegee Airmen.
There is a small group of Tuskegee Airmen living here in WA state , i enjoy talking to them whenever i see them at Airshows or Living History events.

What was the first? I don't think I've ever heard of it.

I did not really like Red Tails too much, it was neat but there were alot of problems with authenticity. Engine audio, flight controls, Me262 had cannons that would have shredded a P-51, and others I cannot call of the top of my head. Many of the events were FAR over exaggerated and many dogfights and sorties never happened...Aside for authenticity the move felt very dry with little character development. Overall it was very disappointing....

He does make quality films, I am just surprised he cut so many corners! All the overkill CGI I feel was unnecessary, there are many flying P-51s and P-40s. Some of which are painted in Tuskegee colors. But it was still worth my $7

I never really liked him. I like the first two Star Wars films he made and the Indiana Jones films. He has seem to have lost his touch though. The Star Wars prequels were trash in my opinion. I have yet to see the newest Indiana Jones film but I haven't heard good things about it.

Red tails was aweful. One of the few movies I actually went to see in the theater and I was super bummed at how bad it was. Bad acting, lots of dumb unrealistic crap. There was so much wrong with that movie it wasn't even funny. How many 262s exactly did they shoot down? The "german destroyer" looked like a dreadnought... how freakin' hard is it to look up what a destroyer looks like when you're making a movie. 4 dudes blow up a German airfield by themselves... the whole movie was a pile of junk. Took a good story that actualy happened and tried to make it larger then life and make then Tuskegee airmen look like supermen instead of telling the real stories.

The acting was terrible, me and my friends were making fun of how slow they were talking at some points, forgetting what they were supposed to say ;D and the dogfights were so unrealistic, an infinite number of German fighters coming at them yet they destroy every single one and no one dies (except for the last fight) Like hairyapple said the airfield scene was really screwed up. The four of them destroy the airfield without any damage to any of their aircraft, and when they are straffing the germans running down the runway only like 5 out of 50 of them died! It showed the ground after each shot and it looked like the bullets were going through them ;D And then there was the Kar98 firing full auto lol.

Pathetic acting, overkill on the CGI, and making the germans look like evil villains. Me, my friend and his dad left the theatre unimpressed. In addition, the ship should have been an Italian Destroyer Escort, but for the movie they made it a britsh King george V class battleship.
