being overwhelmingly pleased with the latest improvements on my own custom k98 i have decided to contract out 2, and only 2 rifles (for now). please follow this link for a view of (although primitive by current standards) my first K98. ww2aa.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=technical&thread=8637&page=1the contract rifle will cost $500 and will be made of a plastic stock D boys and a JG Bar 10. it will come with 6 15 rnd magi zines. it will take between 2 weeks and 1 month to complete each rifle. Rilfes will have 3 year warenty, and life time support. (my life time that is) if you have intrest please PM me.

the dos and don'ts of JB weld. proper hand skills with a dremel how to cut the stock don't paint your bolt poorly, the problem with sears and more powerful springs. figureing out a good way to make the rear iron sight was very hard it took me 2 weeks to get started. things like that.At one point i had to throw $300 on top of what i had already spent because of something stupid i did. right now i am on my second H-band and 3rd cleaning rod.
but that was all the R&D phase. i should have no problem now.

I took the attachment bracket and JB welded it to the reciver then made sight ramps that teh sight slider sits on. i was originaly planning to attach the whole sight base, however i would have never been able to get the sights to line up properly. so i decided to wing it. the first 3 atempts failed in the long run. i did it once with super glue, then with Hot glue, then with Jb weld, then i did it with the "inproved JB weld method" untill the inproved method, they would either fall apart, or it looked like crap.

do you put any upgrades in the bar10? i can, what would you like? if I put in a new spring, im also going to put in a new sear and spring guid. when i did mine to my gun the sear failed after 2 skirmishes, and a few backyard-soft games. or do you mean a hop up and or barrel.

I can do it for less if you have the component rifles.

Decent prices. But it would cost 200-300 less to build one myself. I guess it's just what my time is worth to me.

that's very much so true. however having the heavy machines to do this is something not everyone has. in addition doing it the first time is aways sloppy and confusing.
(I swear i will kill anyone who says "in bed")

NEW PRICE: $500.
there will be a great deal of diffrences between thease contracts, and the original. all of which will only further its skirmishabillity. Contract while you can.

You will discover (as others have) that keeping up with commitments and orders is going to be much harder than you realize. These projects always seem to run into snags and delays and require more time than you allow yourself or that your real comittments provide.
Though more expensive and risky it is best to have rifles done and available for sale rather than taking sales on a comission basis. You'll also discover that building several at a time reduces your overall costs.
Finally I can't say enough about having the right tools. A quality sander and multiple sanding tools for your dremel will dramatically reduce your build times and substantially improve the appearance of your final product.
Good luck with the endeavor.

well the 2 rifles being made now are for me and my buddy, so no complaining here. however i may sell Rifle No.1 depending on how Rifle No.3 turns out.

That's a great approach. Build what you are happy to own yourself and then add a few as time allows and accept sales on existing rifles. That way people aren't experiencing delays and disapointments are reduced. I was building six Garands at a time and there for a while all were sold by the time they were completd or shortly there after. I could generally give a fairly accurate estimate on delivery dates. (Although on occassion unanticipated delays came up) People were always very understanding as long as you truthfully kept them informed about what was going on.
Good luck with the project. Reasonably priced, decently done, skirmishable replicas are the life blood of this hobby and until the main airsoft suppliers get us the right choices, folks like yourself with keep this convoy running.
Keep knocking them out.
