Hello! I am going to buy a Kar98k by Dboys and I would like to know some things about it? First why is it so cheap and is the body and stock real wood and if it isnt does it brake well and does the weapon have other problems(jamming, bullets stuck) and I would like to know the overall for it in combat 1-5/5 (how many stars out of 5) and the overall for just shooting it (cans etc.). And for last, Is anybody willing to sell those shells or could tell a place where those are sold, because dboys doesnt sell those. Thank you!

To be Honest with you, Not that good. Im Planning to buy one to convert it because The Shells Are a Huge pain with this Weapon. as is, maybe a 2-3/5 for it, Youre better off saving for a tanaka Kar98k. (Its so Much better, Believe me.)

One question more, I have seen in many revirews that it has the red thing in the end of the barrel and in some it doesnt, does it come off or whats the deal with that? Thank you! And could plese some one tell me a good wwII airsoft website that sells guns with not very high prices.

Airsoft megastore sells cheap dboys kar98s but I'm not sure if they ship to Estonia. Also check united states eBay or Japan eBay they have them too. The orange tip is a sign that the gun is not real. It will always come with the orange tip if it is new and it is possible for it to be taken off. However you might find someone one the forum who has already taken theirs off and is wts.

The red tip is removable. The shells often jam. The hop up is poor. You can't upgrade any of the parts without customization. The barrel is two piece(which leads to air leaks. Its a nice display weapon though. Its cheap because its a clone and it is also a springer. I wouldn't really suggest it unless your a hard-core sniper and you are willing to do a lot of upgrading work on it.

I had it and within 2 days of buying it I started the conversion, thats how bad it sucks. The accuracy and range are completely horrible. The sights don't match up with what your shooting at, and the hop up doesn't even work (or if it does then it's a piece of crap) You have to load 1 shell at a time because if you load more than 1 it will jam, and it is the hardest spring to cock than on any other airsoft gun i've used in my life. I give it a 1/5 or 1 star.

It is a great source for cheap k98 parts for a conversion though. But if you really want to use a shell ejector for scirmishing, get the gas marushin instead. Comes in both 6 and 8 mm. This is what dboys actually cloned. Hese are better than the dboys but not by much. But if i were you, buy a cheap, broken dboys and a vsr/m700 and do the conversion.

Thanks everybody but about the shell jams, are they fixable when the shell jams and is the "wood"(ABS plastic) strong and would someone perhaps want to sell it to me if they want to get rid of it? Thank you.

The shell jams are fixable, but you need a pair of needle nose pliars on the field with you at all times. It's not worth it trust me, you get to fire 10 rounds a minute while others are firing 100 at you. If you really want it get the real wood one it looks great and isn't as crappy quality as the ABS one.

The Wood stock actually looks crumby and the wood isn't all that great of quality. It looks like plastic until you re-stain it. It didn't even take regular stain, I had to use gel stain. More realistic then plastic but I'd say the plastic stock would hold up just as well.

The reason I got mine in the first place was to convert it to a vsr10 springer. It's great for reenacting, but useless for airsoft.
