HornetWSO, thanks for the comment btw, everything you mentioned will hopefully be included sometime this year. I am planning on another set of photos here soon, these are going to be a lot more fun, the dungarees are dirty and I bought some stage blood to add a little extra touch to them. Thought about making artificial wear and tear, but I suck at that and will beat the hell out of em this year anyways...

Hi, Check out www.emcmilitaria.com. We've got the Marine suspenders, canteen covers, shelterhalves, etc. We also have the best price on Army roughouts, which are very similar to the Marine boondockers. Thanks, Eric

Really, really like your impression! Inspiring, you could say. Did you do all the weathering yourself? If so, I was just curious as to what different techniques did you do to really achieve the worn, battle torn look. I'm interested in doing it myself!

Haha honestly it was a Ka-Bar. I didn't even plan on doing it that way, I was gonna let it happen naturally but I was sitting on my bed one day and just decided to see what I could do. I just bunched up spots and scraped the cloth with the knife slightly off a perpendicular angle and it turned out pretty nice. The tears I think you guess how those were made but the knife did the rest. As far as the dirt is concerned I went out in my woods which was reallllyyy wet and muddy and low crawled, kneeled, sat, etc. in it and then rubbed it in a little bit in some places. The blood was the trickiest trying to get it to look right.

You mentioned in a post that you are doing a raiders impression. Just one suggestion from me. Marine Raiders carried at least two knives. Usually a standard K-bar, and any period nasty fighting knive you can find.

I think you have me cornfused with someone else, but if I ever do attempt a Raider impression, I'll keep that in mind

Just ordered a fixed bale helmet from J. Murray, as well as boondockers from WWII Imp. Hopefully will have them by the end of this week. The liner with the helmet is webbed with rayon and has the early slide buckle permanent chinstrap. It's gonna hurt the bank account but I figured now or never, especially on the boondockers. More purchases to come!

Ok, I haven't been on here in a while and haven't updated my impression status, got my 'new' helmet, boondockers, jungle first aid kit with contents (all WWII dates, not sure if they are what was issued with it though), 'L' sight for my Thompson, short mags, USMC canteen covers (2 2nd pattern and 1 3rd pattern) and a M41 upper pack and suspenders. I need help with the pack, not sure how to properly hook it up to the pistol belt. The way I have it rigged up works but raises the belt up in the front and looks ridiculous.

Anyway here my gear:
- P41 from propstore (The Pacific/HBO)!! I'm surprised by the high quality of dungaree shirt and pant
all my gear is USMC stamped and repro from SOF (Soldier of Fortune) except my leggins which are supposed to be original but I can't guarantee it.....
Enjoy
Aubrey

After my two days'game in June, I will show you my updated impression.....

Unfortunately I had a "brilliant" idea and took real blood from some deer steak and kinda smeared it on my jacket hoping it would stain a bit. I then left for work and my dog found it (as I forgot to put it where he couldn't get to it) and chewed a couple large holes. One of the holes could have been worked into the look, the other was on the breast pocket and pretty much destroyed the whole thing. But luckily I have a brand new pair of P41 trousers from WWII Impressions, a khaki shirt, and a set of P42s to use until I can get my hands on another cheap P41 jacket to distress. My grandpa gave me an Army hbt jacket that I may try to work in as it is a little tattered but I'm not sure if I will or not.

Just noticed an error on a previous post, my boondockers are NOT WWII Impressions, but left overs from 'The Pacific' from WPG...

By the way Aubrey, I love the different shades on your P41s, very nice touch. Thanks Blood, this P41 is issued from The Pacific...as you notized, the shades are so different because my pant is coming from a different stock.... Unfortunetely, my boondockers aren't USMC.....Only ATF, makes real Boondockers with a Raw Cord sole....

Hey! you can still work it in, just get some thread and "Field stitch" it. I thought about it but I'm probably just gonna get a cheap shirt and start over. ATF's Boondockers are not made with the corded soles unfortunately. That feature is only found on some of the super expensive (over $500 USD...) Japanese repros. Why someone would pay $500+ for reproduction boots (which seem to have an incorrect toe shape anyway...) is completely beyond me. The boondockers by WWII Impressions seem to be the best. They have the correct shape sole and toe (all other repros are just Army roughouts basically). Finding a repro pair with corded soles is basically impossible. Oh, and unfortunately, WWII Impressions will not have Boondockers until "late 2013". I heard this from the man himself (Juan) after I called about placing an order. I went ahead and got on their waitlist.

Hey, bloodnguts, did you get your pack figured out? This kid seems to know what he's talking about and he shows a bit of how to put the whole pack together at about the four minute mark: youtu.be/YGA7CXcx_7MHope this helps.

I've only got the haversack. I just want to know how to wear it as a backpack basically, or properly attach just the haversack to a pistol belt. Either way
